Actually, i m suprised at so much drop today in usdtry..the news above is one reason and another is that when closing NY Trump came out with agreeing EU in trade matters..bla bla..also wednesday triple swaps helped probably..but, still very suprising come down for me after no rate hike yesterday..next week there is monthly inflation data for Lira..Ecb meeting and Usa growth data coming soon which may effect usd index..lets see what happen..i dont have any direction bias for short term..lira is very confusing for me nowadays..i m usually waiting sideline and watching..whenever i take some positions i lose (last 2-3 weeks) maybe because of leverage..after i exit with fear in loss, it moves to the direction i guessed anyway..regarding your question, i didnt hear significant things with Russia recently which could affect lira..yes, at recent years, there is some closeness with Russia, but Russia has also many economical problems..indeed, Russia cannot be good alternative to West in terms of economics and politics..

Are you sure ?? I m not swap trader, but I think, all 3-days swaps are on wednesdays (at least in my broker)..maybe, other thread members clarify the issue..

depends on which time zone you are in and broker i get my swaps 7am thursday morning

Yes..actually it depends on time zone..as far as i know on Wednesday evenings at NY close time (5p.m. ), brokers applies 3days swaps to accounts..it is thursday morning in Australia/Japan and wednesday night (11/12 p.m.) in EU..

OANDA debits (or credits) swap, continuously. It is calculated as a single line item, called "Financing", at 16:00 EST.

Swap costs are applied for 3 days from 23:59 on Wednesday to Thursday. The reason of this; the ability of markets and liquidity providers to be closed on weekends and the open positions in parities to be valued for 2 days. USDTRY and USDCAD positions are valued at 1 day, so a 3-day transportation fee is applied from Thursday to Friday.
This may change depending your broker.

Missed the movement this morning as I was in bed.
Now have pending buy and sell orders should the Beast awaken from its slumber again...Not shown on this chart as this has been taken from one of my charting computers.
Loved the triple swap fees this morning.
