hello,

I'd like to start a new thread to learn your impressions on Turkish Lira. there seems no resistance left daily on usd/Try and TRy is being affected by eur/usd volatility.

has any one been on long or short on TRY lately? chances for TRY long might be very soon considering swap benefits in middle term.

I was long on USD/TRY from monday night Australian Eastern time, bought after 2.65x breakout.

Held overnight to just 20 minutes ago where I closed just under psych level 2.7x.

Wanted to get out before NY close. Didn't want to pay another swap. Swaps were about 4% of my profit.

if it passes 2.7 syc level, where would be the next target for you? 2,735? would u go for short from any level?

No way am I going to short this bull market.

I'll wait for pullbacks to demand zones and reload with the bulls.

Turkey's central bank leaves benchmark repo rate at 8%, raises o/n lending rate

eurtry 4.070

  1. FX movement increased risks on inflation
  2. may take liquidity measures on unhealthy pricings
  3. moderate economic pick-up seen to continue

Lira weakens on the news with many looking/hoping for further tightening.
USDTRY up past 3.8200 from 3.7400 prior but capping atm.

I'd really like to trade the lira, but WHERE?? With which broker?? The spreads with all brokers on the lira are CRAZY!!!!!!!

Does anyone have new idea on this considering government may or may have to change the currency policy they have been following lately after the elections in May/June?

What level should it top and do you think fibonacci extension give good results on this?

What level can be used as short right before/after the elections?
