I'm not sure if I would have taken this trade. If the bar crossing the trend line closed at 149.84 and the next bar opened below the trend line but a pip higher at 149.85, isn't that a false signal and a possible bad reversal trade?

Anybody else see that?

I really don't have a dog in this fight, since I'm only looking at this method to make improvements to my general trading (not following it rigorously), but something is seeming fishy here.

First, this may or may not be nearly identical to the DeMark's published method. I have not read the chapters so I cannot comment with any certitude. Clearly, we owe a debt to Mouteki for bringing it to the forum for discussion at the very least - but, is he holding himself out as a pioneer when he is truly just an end user? I don't know the answer to that.

Second, a thread he started (regarding offering 2 pip spreads) lasted only a few hours before getting pulled. In it he appeared to be leading up to some offer whereby one could get "advanced Mouteki training material" along with 2 pip spreads if they signed up. The thread was deleted before any offer could be made. So, that's a bit unsettling.

Third, now I notice he doesn't seem to discuss the method, except rarely, or in the original two documents. Lately, he seems to be promoting the niche forum in other threads*. If I remember right, he said he was busy with school and work as the reason for his rare appearances, but his profile says he's a full-time trader.

I really hope I'm totally wrong and Mouteki is as generous and freely giving as he seems. I will apologize publicly here in the forum to him if I'm wrong. I just get the feeling that this is all leading up to some surprise ending that we're not going to like.

*edit: it was pointed out that this may not be true, so I looked for evidence of my statement that he was self-promoting in other threads. I found none (with the exception of the "2 pip spread thread" that was deleted by the mods). This charge I have made is NOT founded. I leave it in only because I'd rather not go back and start editing comments out to make myself look good. Could this be the beginning of my public apology?

Agreed Still waiting for an answer to my questions. Not holding my breath. I've been following this from day one. Its obvious he had other plans. Since he won't communicate with us we may never know. As you stated either way he got us started. For that I am thankfull. Here is a quote from the man himself.

I think there is an ample number of trades that succeeded even though the bar did not open below/above the previous low/high. However if this condition is fulfilled, I guess it may lend more weight that this signal is indeed a relatively strong one.

Another look at this would be that the signalling candle should open below the previous close for shorts, and above the previous close for longs. But if we based it on this, it seems that the trade in my post #317 is fine. Despite how it may appear, the open is one pip lower than the previous close.

what happened to this thread about mouteki offering 2 pip spread on all currencies was it some sort of improper conduct in the forum rules

I can't be sure... is the first point (labelled 2nd S) of your supply line a valid resistance?

Also, the first point (labelled 2nd D) of your demand line is not valid yet.

Yeah, if you are purely using those filters. As it stands alone, this was a great Mouteki sell in my opinion - despite the current prices... LOL

People started questioning his motives and it just disapeared with no explination. Since then he hasnt posted or discussed anything related to Mouteki Trading. I don't know that it was against the rules but since his origional thread didnt include anyting about him being an IB it wasn't exactly proper.

I hope he has an explination for all of these questions but he hasnt commented on any of it at this time.
