I am experimenting with the basket opening @ 10:00AMEst with a TP of 30 pips - Whenever it reach profit target it shows on the pip gain 0.3 or something is that correct?

if you get stopped out on BOTH baskets at -1500 pips or even -2000 pips (what ever both baskets combined will be) what will the RISK% be? What will be the total loss in % be on your account size?

Dear All, Need to comment as follows:

There are a few basic rules in Forex trading

1. Never ever trade without a s/loss - to all newbies - go and read what happened on January, 15th 2015 - trading without s/losses bankrupted many traders. I lost $475 000,00 in on of my accounts.
2. Never risk more than 2 - 3% on any account per trade or basket of trades. If you risk 30% per basket - it implies that with 3 consecutive loosing trades/ baskets - your capital is gone. No more trading. A 20 to 30 pip take profit with a 2000 pip s/loss = RR of 67:1 - it should always be the other way around = RR = 1:2 or more on the right-hand side of the equation. If you loose 1 basket = 2000 pips with a 30 pip reward - you need to win the next 67 consecutive baskets to get to break even.
3. More advanced: as an example Never trade EU and GU in the same direction = doubling your risk because they are positively correlated, choose 1 of the 2 - the 1 with the best potential RR
4. Ccfp or any other indicator only provides trade suggestions. If you don't do analysis of RR per suggested pair, you are heading for disaster.

Hey ssnijj4r
you can also use the bounce input. What that does is make the EA open a real basket after the total pips of the virtual basket has bounced x pips from the trigger level u established.

As for yer question concerning that if the EA can read other indicators... not really. In order for that to happen you would need to provide the source code of the indicator so it can be modified. The indicator has to print the trade recommendations on to the screen with the same format the currentl indicators (ccfp, cmsm, ccfpmtf) do.

I opened up a fresh demo account yesterday before london session just for to test this method alone with 60 minute ccfp. By mistake I had EA off for London session so it didnt take any trade but for NY it hit 50 pips. I am testing Tokyo 25 pips London 30 pips and NY 50 pips target. I will increase these targets after 1 week testing and then find out best target and test it for couple of weeks more before I put it on a live account.

I agree there must be a stop loss. Hence I am testing it with no SL on demo and writing down DD I had on every session and eventually calculate a SL after maybe a month's testing.

Tokyo session is proving to be a disaster ,partially I think due to nzd news. This is second day in a row so I am gonna ditch tokyo bucket for now and continue with 30 pips london and 50 pip ny session.

Guys to save yourselves hrs of wasted testing, I highly suggest that you read back in the thread from last year. Most of what you are testing now has already been tested long ago by other members.

H1, H4, D1 combinations of each time frame has all been tested and TO, LO, NYO etc..

I've been using this strategy for a little over 1 year now and some of the other guys like Jess have been even doing it even longer, and trust me when I say that during the heyday of this thread between all the members at that time, thousands of combinations were tested, hell I have easily tested hundreds of settings myself.

The lower time frames are less accurate and more volatile, it is really a hit or miss with winning and losing baskets. D1 and W1 are more accurate and W1 has been the best and most consistent long term.

You can take my advice or not, but I just wanted to let you know before you spend hrs of testing only to learn this yourself.

The strategy does work, don't give up, find the setting that works for you, but please do some reading first to learn more and see what the guys have already done before.

Think of the virtual basket as a real basket that is opened at the time you indicate, except that no real trades are opened only pretend trades. The EA keeps track of the virtual basket pips just as it were a real basket. Then as wp3vv explained, you have trigger points, so when the virtual basket total pips reach those trigger pip points the EA will then open a REAL basket.

Now that's the way you do it. Let the market tell you the probable SL. Once you have that SL, try to determine how many times it is hit. That will give u a real good idea of what to more or less expect. Pay special attention to each time after the basket hits SL. Calculate the probability of the basket winning right after an SL is hit. Again that will give ya info on what you may want to do right after an SL is hit.

If yer patience the market will give you all these details..

Really? Haven't touched that in ages.. Will re-examine. BTW what is wrong? It just doesn't record anything?

No don't misunderstand me, I did not say to give up testing.

I said to read back in thread so you can see what members have already tested, this way you can save yourself time not repeating whats been done already, and maybe seeing some of the combos that was tested might give you some inspiration and new ideas to try.

The possibilities are almost endless with this strategy, and this is half of the fun.

A little over 1 year later and I'm still running new tests as I think up ideas as I go, although I have found my sweet spot setting which I trade live.
