Hi G, My thought is Gold is still a dollar story rather than Gold yet. I'm thinking that the dollar still has another round of strength left inside the highs before big sell-off. I cant see gold making any big breakout before that happens but who knows. Consolidation or Testing of the inside low around 1220 - 1200 thinking would be good buying if it gets there.

Everyone has a different way to trade. I know there is who prefers to enter in the market immediately when price touches the area of interest (where the Fibs ratios are), with stop at the X point.
I prefer to see signs of trend change with a different stop. This way is more selective, so at the end I don't trade some patterns that I see becouse they fail. This is just a way to have a better win ratio, but I enter later in the market.
I saw your past posts, and I can just say you that of course many patterns fail. It have to be so. This is trading.

In the GbpUsd case (picture 30minutes chart):
1. It's a long candle after the GDP data. The long candle down in the area is ok, can be normal. The fact that there is not immediate reaction in the area is a first alarm that that pattern can fail.
2. Here there is a market in congestion. It could be a good sign, because it could be accumulation.
3. Price makes a lower high where bulls stop buy and bears push it down again. From that point the level 3 is my refence to enter (with stop loss under 2), becouse a break above it could be a sign of a possible uptrend starting. But it didn't happen.
So, enter long with this situation has not sense for me.

EU 120 has been a significant area Euro. Should be well defended but also could be a lot of stops to cause a squeeze.
