Crayon Trend Lines

So, here they are but you have to use your own coloring book.




A few asked me to upload a tick generator to apply to the trendline chart.
I also uploaded the include folder in the crayon trend line zip file.

you may want to down load the new copy in post 1 currected a bug in the divorce court routine. the SR lines were not working right in the built 1 try built 2.

The euro was just not moving this morning so I though I would post the trend lines and while it was uploading the euro poped.

Let me know were I can get some free voices and I'll redo them.

by the way did you know that you can make your own coding templates?

Where does the mouse dll file go please ??

in the Expert >> Library directory

make sure you have built 2 of the program

the file name has v100 b02 at the end if it has b01 and the end it has a few bugs.

I would suggest you read the documentation at the end of the MQ4 file. you would of known were to put the dll file.

I posted here a template file for creating script files. Here I am not talking about the templates that are saved of chart windows. If you look at the main MT directory >> expert >> templates directory. in it you will find a file called script.mqt, if you call it something else and place the script.mqt in that templates directory.

then start the MetaEditor using the wisard create a new script and you will see a different script start up. You can open the .mqt files in the metaeditor and change it to your likings. This one is a watered down version of what I use. You can create one for each type file and call them by the default MT names and that the one it will use. BUT make copies of your work as when you download a MT update it will replace yours with theirs again. so after each update you have to copy yours back.

Cockeyed Cowboy, i do not see the crayons on the chart just $$$$ signs.(see screen shot) Is this still being developed? no thread activity for a while.

Looks like you dont have the fonts that I was using, instead of crayons you have dollar signs.
what does it say under the dollar signs? Do you get any trend lines when you mouse over one
of the dollar signs?

did you install the mouse dll file?

Thank you for the reply Cowboy...it says Crayon Trend Lines v1.00 (Beta) under the $ signs...no i do not get any trend lines...and yes i copied the mouse dll. except in my version of mt4 it is not in expert>>library it is in experts>>libraries. does this make a difference?

now when i hovered over the $ signs it wrote a blue horizontal line.

Thats what it does. Read the end of the MQ4 file it has an explaination of the program and how to use it.
the dollar signs is because you donot have the font file that I used draw the crayons icons, but the dollar
signs will work just as well. You will get only one line at a time in the color that your mouse is over (red
green blue or gold) you should not get any more untill you either use the one you have or deleted it and
ask of another. You should read the end of the code to get the most from this code. I used it every day

I have followed several of your threads and found you to be a trendline programming guru. Hopefully you can assist me with an indicator I desperately need which will assist me with EA trading of trendlines. What I need (IN A MAJOR WAY) is an indicator that will allow me to manually draw trendlines and store the data of that trendline so that I can use the trendline as a reference in my EA. I don't have a problem naming the trendline after I draw it (ex: Trendline1 or whatever it would need to be named). I would like to have the ability to name 6 different trendlines if possible, but I am willing to take whatever I can get as long as it supports at least 2 trendlines (upper and lower)

A brief descrition of how I would use the indicator. First thing that needs clarified and that is that I am not an MT4 programmer. I purchased a program that allows me to build EAs by entering data criteria building blocks in a flowchart fashion that I want to compare (MACD, EMA, stoch...) The program then compiles the flowchart into a working EA. It works great for someone like myself who does not know MT4 programming language. Since using the program I have learned how to use MetaEditor to edit existing criteria in an EA (TFs, Periods, and numerical data points for MACD, EMAs, stochs...) but I do not have the ability to develope or write new programming into an existing EA. The program does not allow me to reference an object (horizontal line, vertical line, or trendline) in my EA. I need an indicator that will hold the data of a manually drawn trendline so that I can use that data point in my custom EA (The program offers the ability for EAs to reference other indicators). With an indicator holding trendline values I could use that in my EA to help automate trading when price meets all criteria and breaks the trendline that I have drawn.

I have searched high and low for a long time and have not had any success locating an indicator that holds the value of a manually drawn trendline. I have run across TrendMeLeave me which will not work since it closes the trade stricly based on price breaking the trendline. I need the ability to have my EA criteria met and also the ability to reference EMA (moving averages) to break the trendline, not just price. Everything that I have found are either alert indicators for manually drawn trendline or open/close of orders when price touches/breaks/retraces from the trendline. With an indicator like I am describing, I would be able to buy limit if price touches and rebounds, or use as an exit if a moving average crosses the trendline. Using for an exit is my biggest desire since this would eliminate SL hunters with a quick flash in high or low and then price continues in the original trend direction. Using a break in trendline with a moving average would almost completely eliminate these high/low flashes that frequently knock me out of my trades and also ensure true trend changes before my EA enters or closes an order.

I would be most grateful for anything that you can do to assist with an indicator as described above. My EA is already written and needing only the trendline EA for me to reference in the program. Without question I would forward you the EA for your own use once we get the trendline indicator added. Based on my 5 years of compiling EAs, I really think that this EA could be a profitable EA that would be 98% automated with only 2% manual intervention (drawing the trendlines). You have to understand that trend line values change on ever bar so any indicator as you say will only record one trend line value, you will need an indicator that can handle and give values for eight trend lines four up and four down trend lines. minimum.

The crayon trend line indicator can handle 999 trendlines times 4 different colors both up and down for a total of almost 8000 trend lines. It will not save them on exit of MT. At the end of the code I beleive (have to go back and look) I explained how to access the values of the trend lines. that is if you have some coding knowledge. When you say that you cannot access graphic objects in the software your useing, are you sure? because it would be the best way to go about it.

If you can send me the Help file of your software (not the software) just the help file I will see if the crayon trendlines can be hooked in with little work. In the mean time go to the end of my code you will find what I call the 'Documentation Division' it explains how to use the indicator and how to hook its values.

I am planning to use your tick sending script for speeding up an indicator.
While trading I always look at volume which is in forex tick-based. Does sending additional ticks affect volume size?
Because of the additional ticks, is it conceivable that an ea would send trade requests even if no tick has been received from broker?
My trading is also based by sending trade requests through scripts launched by hotkeys. Can the additional ticks send by your script interfere with those scripts and/or delay trade requests to be send to the broker's server?
