The USD index remained firm and held near the prior day’s best levels as its major counterpart EUR consolidated from yesterday’s swings with EUR/USD stuck near the 1.2100 level.

Option expiries of note for today's 15:00 BST:
EUR/USD: None of significance nearby price action.

Due to the recent Draghi speech on monetary policy, I will split in two my short position to close half @ 1.2040, near the 200-day moving average and the other half @ 1.1915 (2018 low).

A slight pull back this week, i believe this is healthy for the steady progress of the pair.

Are you tracking EURUSD? Here's is a top-down technical perspective to consider.

On the weekly time frame, price action has been printing wicky candlesticks for some weeks and apparently leading to a topping pattern. Last week, price action printed a bearish candlestick that breached the topping zone southward. The candlestick also broke far below the monthly pivot around which price action has operated sideways since the beginning of the month. Apparently, bears will be tempted to maintain the impetus and may target the immediate horizontal support around the 1.19200 area. It should be noted that bulls pushed back the bearish move last week and somehow curtailed the southward momentum; leading to a longer wick on the low part of the candlestick than the upper part. However, bears had taken price action to a minor support area, around 1.20510 (magenta), before bulls intervened.

On the daily time frame, price action has broken below a support trendline (navy) that has been been in play for quite a while. As the present location of price action is far from the mean, we may expect a pullback to an area that had served as a horizontal support for a role flip, leading to an impetus of a southward move upon turning around. Such an area is around 1.22150.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

No gap damage, prices within expected range. Steady as she goes. Stay the course, I'm not sure if it'll keep running as bayfish says, might be worth holding long but looking for possible reversal at 2190 to 2220/2230.

I am bearish on this pair and will look for a sell setup on the H4 tf should price action retrace to the zone bound by red horizontal lines in the attached H4 chart.

While the bearish trend remains strong, Eur/Usd corrective movement might continue between 1.2050 to 1.2200. The pair facing challenges this week, watch out US PCE inflation, Fed meeting and Nonfarm Payroll.
