If you are tracking the GBPUSD, by the technical structure of the pair, I see the likelihood of a southward pullback to a horizontal support around the 1.35970 area in the early part of next week and with the possibility of testing the support trendline (red) on the weekly time frame before a northward turnaround. So, it is better to wait for such a pullback before looking for a short-term swing trading opportunity to the north.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

Good Question:

Swing is: SQRT(2)*100*FRAME_MODULATOR*PRICE,

EURGBP price now is 0.8900, frame daily so MODU=1 for fast swing; MODU=2 for patient swing

so minimum swing is: SQRT(2)*100*1*0.9800 = 141*1*0.9800 = ? ?

I think most traders understand swings, definitions may vary, but the structure is pretty basic. Entries and exits within swings gets a bit tricky

Swings are basically used hand in hand with supply and demand - swings provide direction and SD give us entries and exits

I agree. You know KeenPips, I see on the daily swing down to the key support (on the weekly) as you mentioned above, that's why I entered with sell limit order at BRN 1.3850. What d'you think guys?...

That's a trade you may take for a small profit. The bigger profit will come with taking a long trade around the support trendline or a short trade if price action flip the trendline as resistance, say on a daily or four-hourly closing basis.

The argument about the definition of swings is not the focus of this thread imo. How you swing trade is a more beneficial focus, which the OP clearly stated as the focus from the onset.

Rules in getting into this swing trade
1. Dynamic area of support and resistance
2. Fibo rejections at 61.8%
3. Candlestick pin bar
4. Previous support now working as resistance
5. Trendline
