USD goes up on bad news now, totally backwards. The FED chair wrote that the outlook is strong but the dollar falls, weird.

I always guessed when price moves so strongly right before news, like it did today, the big boys are either pulling their orders, allowing the little guys to push the market in one direction OR the big guys manipulate the market to get it to a pool of orders where they can enter much more easily.

I have no idea if either of these are true, but it is strange to see price move so strongly before a move, when the entire morning it had been so quiet.

All of the above! add:there are a ton of resting buy stops from previous sellers, There are a new crop of buystops for the wanna be longs. All of these can only be taken if some entity "sells" to them!!

I've seen it happen enough I am tempted to fade the pre-news move as soon as news is released. But I don't have the confidence in it, especially where to set my stop and my profit levels. But I do seem to see it happen often, where the entire morning is quiet due to big US news, then right before the news comes out price moves strongly in one direction, only to fade to the opposite, at least for enough to make a profit, once news is released.

If you're not comfortable doing it, don't! There will be other opp's for trading, there always is!!

I totally understand your reason for going short. I have a different way of looking at the markets than you do, and it was tempting to short up there where you did, but the truth is I would not know when to get out or why. Which is why giving trading signals does not work, to all those new traders out there asking for them.

In fact, based on the moves of the news in 30 minutes, I may look for longs on the UJ. And we could both be right and make money at the same time.

I can set rough targets, but the market does what it does. When it hits a level of interest, I have to see what it does at the moment. That's why for me "hard" targets aren't always the case! And calling these out ahead of time, very difficult with high accuracy! Because of this, people think you're just a scammer,lol
