Yesterday I thought I would try going naked! - without any indicators or EA manager and working off PA. I'm pleasantly surprised as I have done better than I normally do with manual trading. Still room for improvement, but encouraging.

Been learning or trading with EW theory for some time, it helps me at times consider market condition and then take advantage, this information u shared is neat

If you can recognize the 123 pattern you will then discover market structure and trading will be SIMPLE

Thank's Rick. I have a few thoughts I need to off load so please forgive my ramblings. If it is a benefit to anyone then it will be worth it. I consider myself still inexperienced and very much still learning.

I looked for, in trend on W, D and H4. Only the best A* setups. There have been a lot this week and may be this is why I found it easier than expected. I might be complaining next week as everything is in consolidation and I cant stop over trading. Time will tell. Starting to get that lesson though and at least I can identify a trend well on different time frames.

I'm placing trades at a support level in an obvious bull trend and resistance for the opposite still working of H4. I look for the surface of a boiling kettle for the up. Its like the bars cannot contain the upward pressure from beneath. Not sure how to describe the bear opposite. I'm recently aware if BUOB and BEOB and look at the support and resistance of the high and low for that bar. I also looked at the daily high and low and weekly high and low of the last S/R. I'm aware of the monthly levels too thanks to Emmanuel's regular training here on all those points. Putting it altogether, I'm aware I'm starting to see PA as it happens spured on by recent posts and more importantly for me I'm not over analysing things which is a huge step forward. I never really relied on the TDI for confirmation (sorry Trekkies). It always seemed late or not clear enough for me.

I would add I'm very slow getting this far and would encourage newbies or starters to continue for as long as it takes if that is your goal. I am still very early on in this journey to forex "enlightenment" even though I have studied, test and code between 3-6 hours a day and at the weekends. I guesstimated that I'm at about 2500 hours work in 23 months. At least 1500 hours programming EAs and indicators that have not worked well. Quite sad really. I think I have a new direction now thanks to all here. Time will tell, but going naked is daring if not fun but I might dream up an indicator to cover up;

Thanks for that information, these are the stories by traders that help guide us all in the right direction. We don't need traders here with big Ego's.
My guess is somewhere around 5000 hours of screen time is needed to really get a good handle on PA. I am just a bit ahead of you in screen hours and throwing more hours at learning PA at present because my financial returns have greatly improved.
