Hello everyone, I'd like to reflect on a losing trade I made a little over a week ago. This is post #1,161. I've read up to about page 160 on the old thread and feel like I'm learning more every time I read it. My goal in posting this is to not just help myself, but to help others as well. So hopefully my analysis is accurate. If not, please let me know. Here is the current Big Boss chart: Within the last year, it's made a HL, a HH, and potentially a new HL. {image} Here is the current Boss chart: With the trend line added, we can see that the long...

Your analysis was good and your Summary SHOULD have dictated your action (NO TRADE)

Summary: Big Boss - uptrend, Boss - uptrend, Worker - downtrend. At the time of the trade, the worker was not in agreement with the Big Boss or Boss.

You did ALL the hard work and then IGNORED it! Until you gain more PASR experience, just FOCUS on those pairs where ALL 3 of our time frames are in harmonic alignment.

Good job for doing your analysis of a losing trade and you will get tremendous benefit from posting it here (and getting it out of your system)

USDZAR {quote} It is good to specialise in your ""home"" currency as being there you can pick up and "feel" the vibe from the funnymentals (for what they're worth) Since I can't do a thorough analysis as I don't have this pair, I can only comment on what I SEE from your charts (which are very dark and miserable - are the lights always out in South Africa?) The first thing I notice is that you do not have any SUPPORT or RESISTANCE levels on your chart so that tells me you are trading BLIND and probably without a PLAN. So, looking at the Boss and...

Hahah the lights are on for now, and the beautiful Western Cape Will run Out of water soon and by implication wine. Which is probably the only reason for living here. Even the sunshine in Johannesburg is diminishing due to rain ( must be AL Gore and global warming) and its a miserable cold 25 degrees Celsius, but I digress....

Although not apparent from these charts, as they are 17 days from being 3 years old, I do in fact trade PASR, but my levels are not as historically long as tier 1 pairs because the historical foot print changes far more rapidly than for instance cable. So looking at boss levels and big boss levels are very different each year.

I deleted S&R lines in order for the trade levels to be apparent. and my reasoning was to demonstrate the immense volatility for a very low lot size and by implication the risk and profitability. I know you requested that traders not post their pips made, so as to prevent discouragement of less nimble or newer traders.
I apologise if inserting the dollar amounts in the sl and tp is contrary to the spirit of the thread and shall refrain from doing so.

PASR works immensely well and daily trading is probably the lowest time frame that can render predictable profit because the spread is so large and liquidity low at times there is immense gapping on even the 4h tf.

So in answering your question my purpose in posting this pair is not to seek approval on a job well done, or assistance in applying what you have so painstakingly set out in two threads , but merely to show that your wonderful strategy
works very well on even the bastard step child of the forex world.
Happy Trading all

Hey Strat,

Thanks a lot for the comment and criticism. The reason I was looking for a long on the daily (from my new analysis) is because of the recent HL (at the doji) and the HH that is in the process of forming. And, because of this, I was thinking the downtrend I identified on the worker was no longer valid. I think one of my biggest weaknesses and something I'm going to work on more is the ability to identify current trends and good PASR opportunities to trade during the current harmonic alignments.

Edit: I just read your response again and I think I need to clarify that the "summary" I gave was of my new and improved analysis (from yesterday). I wasn't thinking this when I originally took the trade. My bad for any confusion

Forgive me for belaboring AUDJPY.
I'm showing price stuck in a trap in each of their respective times.
Chart notation should explain.

You are forgiven!

""Trap""????????????? ""Gray Area""???????????????? Is this something carried over from your other thread?

PASR has situations where PRICE is ""trapped"" inside a Weekly Control Candle but that is all.

An UNDERSTANDING of Basic PASR would reveal that we CAN trade even when PRICE is ""trapped"" inside a Weekly Control Candle when high probability of profit is on our side.

EURJPY

A really good example of PRICE wizzing UP and DOWN inside an 8 WEEK Weekly Control Candle and going nowhere.

This sideways action is traded using Basic PASR

Hmmm...

more 5 minute madness...

I MUST be getting old and slow... I just can't imagine having to look at that many candles ... for that long... to get an entry.

I was/am in both these trades. The fact that potential trades in these pairs were possibly "on" was heralded by the higher time frames.

EUR/CAD:

We have discussed this at some length previously so I will not go over old ground. I have made a number of short against any retracement of the SS Boss candle we discussed. Most (but not all) now closed. The only additional comment I will make on this pair is that I think the wicks on the 2 consecutive 4 hour candles marked in lime (below) gave warning this move would (probably) happen.

I closed out all 4 positions on this account at various prices ahead of the 150 BRN. All done by setting TP. I simply haven't looked at the account until I saw this post. I certainly didn't sit glued to my screen all day watching 5 minute candles form - let alone sit there through the night waiting for the entry/exits on the New York and London markets (where the action usually occurs).

Pressed for time right now, so will comment on other pair (EUR/JPY) when/if i get the chance.

Now, where's my beer!
cheers

Only a small one, I've been struggling to get screen time this week.

Strat I took my Take Profit PASR from 1 hour previous level almost a month to the day earlier in November... Lucky it was the right level but someone else sure was looking at it too it seems!

Have a good weekend all.

Well done, you did good - a perfect execution of PASR. Something must be sinking in!

What made you choose EUR over GBP? GBP, most times, has much more volatility than EUR. That same trade, at the same time, but on GBPAUD, would have produced 300% more profit!
