Strat,

The cross of MA's, although never used as a trading signal due to the lag, is also very informative. Their slopes provide valuable information as they do when they "trap" prices between them.

I thought we don't do anything between the worker 20ema & 50ema trap?
Correct, but the trade would have been initiated outside (below) the 20/50 trap

Post 14696 (old thread)
However, price is in the 50/20 trap

Post 14232
But, it is in the 20/50 Trap.

Post 14108
We don't trade when PRICE is in the 20/50 trap

The "trap" has obviously been dropped from the system. I would be interested
in knowing why.

Thanks
Frank

First, Frank, congratulations on reading and understanding!

Those posts were from 2010 and what I was doing then was trying to make students trade conservatively by calling PRICE in a trap when it was in the Strat Shadow so that they would think twice about taking a trade. Since then, students have successfully traded PRICE inside the Strat Shadow so now I only advise caution when PRICE is "trapped" inside a Weekly Control Candle. That is all it is - a caution, advising us that PRICE is going sideways, whizzing up and down within a defined range. It does not mean do not trade. Experienced students do trade when PRICE is trapped inside a Weekly Control Candle and glyder posted one such trade a while back.

I hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

Good day everybody

I am new to the ff and created this account because I would like to follow Strat's path. I have been trading different time frames and strategies ,blowing two accounts in the process. I am a hesitant person by nature and I'm interested in trading because it gives me the chance to influence the direction of my fate, so to speak.

Below is the screenshot to a recent trade I took.

the plan arose on Thu, Nov 23rd, price breaking S at 131.50; entry order for 3 mini at 131.60; s/l at swing low (-37 pts); t/p at R 134.40 (+280 pts); part of the position was to be closed at 133.00.

System opened position according to order later that day. Price rose all through the night and until Friday afternoon (crazy Fridays). Friday night just before 8 pm I decided to close the positions at 133.09 because I didn't want to risk the crazy Monday morning jumps and drops. Profit taken 441 pts:

What did I do right?
- I had a plan
- r/r ratio
- trade a price reversal (instead of continuation which made me blow one account)

Not so goods:
- Nov 23rd is neither one of the four basic PASR candles
- didn't actually follow the plan thru: I should have closed only 2 mini and let the other one run. (plan the trade and trade the plan)

{quote} Oh, And one more thing - I also recommend checking the FF calendar before entry to see what announcements are lurking: {image} That 15minute Funny-Mental candle 1 gave approx 70 pips (meaning it makes up the majority of yesterday's 24 hour bear move): 1:30pmAUD GDP q/q 0.6%0.7%0.9% That 15minute Funny-Mental candle 2 gave approx 25 pips. 1:30pmAUD Trade Balance 0.11B1.37B1.60B In this case, both have gone in your favour. Perhaps we should nickname you "The Funny-Mentalist" on this thread. I don't trade "Funny-Mentals" BUT I do (try to remember)...

Post for YOKI

I have seen your recent posts and know that you have spent a bit of time making post trade analysis.

I snapped this for you on 14 Dec when the announcement was made. I haven't highlighted the news candle, but our "deaf, blind, dumb, one-legged man with asthma" could point it out to anyone who can't work out which candle it is!

In my opinion, this was the "nail in the coffin" for your trade.

The point of my original post about keeping an eye on "Funnymental" announcements when about to enter, or already in a trade was this:

You had two "Funnymental" releases that were positive for your trade but there was no follow through in price to your target. To me, that was a red flag and a reason to tighten up/take profit or quit the trade. This Funnymental announcement on 14 Dec was negative for your trade (positive for AUD currency) and sure enough, price blew through your stop loss.

As stated, I don't trade funnymentals, but I do keep a check on them when entering or in a trade.

I look forward to your next trade.

cheers

Hi - here is another attempt:

Direction on big boss: down
Direction on boss: down
Worker direction down + entry on BUEB

Is this a correct entry according to PASR?

Hey, T! Hey, Yoki!

Although AJ shows a MC bearish break and close on MN chart (I assumed we are bearish this month), based on W1 chart, I was looking for longs, because we were at WCC low and, as Strat says, price wiggles up and down until it breaks, so I am assuming Yoki should have closed the trade at WCC low, because we do not know when it will get broken.

I went long at the WCC low because something that I learnt from Emmanuel7788 is that we can use the high and low of WRB and WCC as support and resistance. Maybe he learnt this from Strat. I went long after the close of the doji candle, because there was not only indecision at WCC low, but also a good S/R, because if we look left, we see that price tested that area many times before (the red circles on the image), which led me to believe it had good chances of bouncing to the upside. I added to my long position later, and now I am waiting to see how today closes, to make a decision if I keep the longs or get out with my profits, because we are near the MN resistance and also a MN TL, which may make the price turn, especially that we had an IB on Friday on D1, which shows indecision/consolidation.

Whether you know it or not, you just traded Basic PASR. PRICE has now stalled at the Strat Shadow so we "expect" lower PRICES.

I explained many times in my "old" thread how the Weekly Control Candle acts as Support and Resistance.
