Silly me for assuming that you had the pick of all western women but none of them met with your high standards! Don't kid yourself. A union where a woman has or earns more money than a man rarely works. All women are materialistic, only some pretend not to be, usually because they have a cat in hell's chance of snaring a wealthy man. You would be extremely blinded if you believe that mail order brides are not materialistic. That is their priority, together with getting a passport and their family taken care of. But of course they have to play the charade of true love and not caring about money... obviously, otherwise they're not going to get very far out of their 3rd world mud huts, are they?

I was actually speaking about people in the US not being materialistic. There are a few that I have met. As far women and standards go, mine were pretty high. I like very intelligent women or else I will bore of them. That was generally an issue. As far as women being materialistic, it just makes the game easier for a man with resources to spare. I never understood that behavior, but that is not to say I did not benefit from it. I would never say that immigrants who marry western men are not materialistic, most are to some degree. A man has to have a solid vetting process. Men who take this route clearly understand the looks/money paradigm. Looks are a wasting asset, while wealth is an appreciating one. It makes sense to get a woman much younger, who can manage her mouth. There is a reason why there is a billion dollar make up industry. Talking of polygamy you do have some weird sorts there and I can well believe they are not materialistic. There are some who live without electricity and shun the whole modern way of life. Just weird.

Yeah, looks fade but dumb is forever. By which time those women who relied on their looks have secured a a good life. Cosmetics and anti aging industries are huge but I am not sure it is for the benefit of women trying to impress men! Men are easy to please. Trying is pretty irrelevant. Women are their own harshest critics. Anyhow, looking good comes from within (I am not talking of personality), healthy body, healthy mind and the consequence is looking good on the outside too. Cosmetics don't give you the looking good from within. Surgery is even worse, you don't look better or younger, just weird!

This applies to everyone not just women. It's the whole lifestyle. You can't abuse your body then expect to look good years later. Keep a close eye on your weight and body fat percentage. Home body fat monitors are crap, so beware. Watch your blood pressure and resting heart rate. If anything is slightly awry, deal with it because burying your head in the sand won't make it go away.

And yep I am typing this sat in my car having just come out of the gym.

Weird is an extremely subjective term, jen. Looks always fade, but dumb can be cured depending upon the receptivity of the person trying to be cured. No matter how well she eats, how good she sleeps, what she wears, her body fat ratio, those crows feet are coming. That pouch is coming. Those saggy tits and buttocks are coming. There is no stopping it. As far as men being easy to please, if she is around truck drivers and such, well, yeah, they are just trying to find a place to put it. Men with careers and investments are a bit more discerning. A man with adequate resources will draw a Playboy bunny a week if he can pay for it. You said yourself that all women are materialistic, and the cold brutal truth is that most men know this, so he can be a fat, middle aged slob with a nice house and car, and some money to burn, and he will still be a happy man. A cute vegan waitress who works out will not cut it. She will be good for a toss, but that is about it. She has to bring something to the table other than her lifestyle.

To the educated, it would be self evident that the term weird is dependent upon culture, so I will not bother any more with that.

I do in fact know better, that men beyond a certain socioeconomic group have increasing standards with who they will breed with.
