Jmn asked what does decent mean to Brits. When I originally said "decent," maybe what I meant was a good catch.

I don't think that many really get to aim higher than their stations whether the currency be looks or money and if you throw in the global pot you have passports and also the belief that all westerners are rich, thereby making the fat, pot bellied, ageing lothario quite sought after in some parts of the world. Hence Jmn talks about western men "globalising" the dating game.

I don't know of any woman aspiring to be Kim Kartrashian. I think you are trying to justify yourself . What would you say of the fat middle aged women who go to Africa to pick up 20 something toyboys and convince themselves it is true love only to find their bank accounts emptied and the "true love" has done a runner?

The truth is probably decent western women are out of your league. You need an add on, like a passport and the illusion of being loaded. You don't like western women for having their own minds and speaking them, of being independent and having their own money, not relying on you, therefore not answerable to you. Chances are they will tell you to get stuffed, something an "eastern" bride would never do because 1. they are reliant on you and 2. it is not in their culture to be allowed an opinion, never mind speaking their minds.

Now by "decent" I mean well presented, well educated, well spoken, solvent and with a likeable personality. There are plenty around. Trouble is, there is also competition.

You should try getting a dog. You will get subservience and unconditional love.

They would just be sitting in Africa pissed off and bitter any saying there are no good men instead of in the USA. It is fine for a woman have an opinion, in fact it is essential. But telling men to go get stuffed is what gets them fired, especially if a man has any sort of options. So it is the likeable personality part that a lot of women lack. My point was: fat middle aged women going to Africa, getting conned that some toyboy has fallen for them, that it is the real thing blah blah, then to find out what the toyboys wanted all along was their money and a passport. Beats taking a dinghy across the Med and camping out at Calais to get into the UK. Same thing!
