Guys I think the perfect filter for directionality and volatility for this system would be an inside candle or a double inside candles pattern, if it would be possible to implement a function that after an inside candle the ea puts up a new block of trades with the distance between each line of the grid equal to lets say the lenght of the mother candle, that would give some nice results I think. If the programmer of the original program in the first threads is still online and avalable to do this please advise him.

I find this thread very interesting. I read over 40 pages of this 91 pages thread and got tired with information overload. I am still not able to find 1 place where I can find list of all version of this EA and its description of its functionality. I read many people believes this cannot be profitable, I still want to give it a shot with different variations. I believe no EA can be profitable as-is....it is the little art we put in as traders makes it profitable.

I want to start a discussion again with anyone who is interested to develop this further with ideas and variations. But first we need a list of all versions of this EA and the difference can functionality for each of them.

Who is interested to start the discussion on this?

in this tread there are at least 3 eas with diff.version 1) mgrid 2) expandgrid 3) vipergrid so... to which you refer?
Personally i did try only vipergrid so can''t say nothing about other 2 eas and personally i did not
read the whole tread for missing of time... i suggest you to dowload 1 copy of this 3
and decide wich you want to try... then we can discuss.

Sure thing. I personally don't believe in back testing. So forward testing is my only option on Demo account. I will wait for the Market open on Sunday 5pm EST and download all 3 latest versions and take it from there.

By any chance do you know easy way to find all 3 latest versions?

for vipergrid the last is 2.6.3 for others you must to go to the list of attachment
and download for the more recent date. or... to read all. it depends on your time.

I have a question how to test Grid Ea in strategy tester because in control points and open price results is amazing but every tick test is profit down .. please help me ... i have grid ea which makes from 50 to 20000$ every mont.. but what is right testing in strategy tester ??

backtest is not reliable, it should be run on demo.

the backtest could be good but you must have confirmation by forward test. and testing in demo account is also different from real so...
as the disclaimer tells for all try it at your own risk....grid is the most valid approach to forex in my opinion because the market goes where it wants and it is unpredictable but.... many many tries to do before finding the right setting.

the autor i dont know... i must say to you that i started to backtest with vipergrid ea but it takes me lots of time so i decided
to suspend the test... now i am in another project so... i think many people use ghis grid but they dont want
to contribute so... try and good luck.

Hey everyone,

I'm new to coding and new to this forum. I've been testing V7.0 of mGrid EA and wanted to do a few modifications to the code and see if I can modify the approach.

My objective is to have this EA running on multiple pairs, however, I would like to pause the EA if the account equity is less than 90% of account balance. For example, if account balance is $10.000 and account equity is $8500 (because there are other EAs running on the same account) and the EA is about to start a new grid it would wait until the equity returns to above 90%.

Hope it makes sense.

I'll share my backtest, strategy and result once I finished.
