remember this, X-Man's H1 trading .. Price Action is king

for Big E' H4 trading the TDI is king.

But for me, the Price Action is the king all the time in all timeframes trading.

The problem I have with Big E' aggressive style trading is his money management. Too risky and too big risk per trade. Not many traders can trade like he did.

Yes, sure. This particular MA is from Alexander Elder, which is mentioned in one of his books (maybe others too). It provides me the trend and which price crosses or closes above/below, it can be taken as an aspect in your favour if you want to open an order, not like a signal. Personally, from my point of view is like saying: "Hey, something is happening, after 25 periods the last one doesn't have a normal behaviour (crossing or closing below/above)"

Elder, in some of his strategies use it as an indicator of the trend.

PA is King

With the signal of D1 to enter the trade I am thinking of this two to enter.X-Man's with moderate mode.

What do you think Which would be better stress free and less risky?Please share your experience.

I took a naked chart.. added a 26 Ema .. and had a look.
I know.. everybody reads the market a bit different.. and thatīs totally okay..

But:
A moving average shows a lot of informations..

Steep ange or flat,
Price touched already ..
Close below a particular MA
" DEAD END" = price moves harsh to the MA, closes there and next candle opens in oppisite direction.

Normally I post charts in the thread.. but itīs really offtopic so I upload it on a separate place.

So.. what do you read from this MA ?
I don t see what you said;". Also, the price is currently below EMA 26 1D. "
-price is above your 26 MA
-the MA shows up,
-and I can t see any respect of these line.

May be it suits to another system.. but there is no priceaction shown.


I really don t want to mix any strategy or confuse newbies..

Just started 4H short on AUDUSD, very tight stop given how crowded that zone was on Sept 6-7

EDIT: got out, bad idea to start with

Hi Guido, you absolutely right. For this reason I said that I don't take it as a signal of entry. Also, when I posted the message the price was below the 26 EMA, but not closed, that's the key I think.

I use this EMA only to know the trend of the pair (green=bullish, red=bearish, yellow=no tendency)

.. just a easy way how to read a MA..

- Look for candle close .. or a bounce... what happened today is a 35 sma bounce.. well known in another very stable system.(Choros/Dance)
- When the price can t close above/below a MA, itīs mostkly a sign for " can t keep itīs planned direction/or stronger participians on the other site.

This means not this will hold forever.. but for this day..itīs still a long..

Look how Emm. spots reversals.. he can explain it better.. but for now itīs still long.

There's another aspect of moving averages that's probably forgotten by many. They are 50%
out of phase. Most of us are using the pac as 5ma, smoothed, hi and low. In order to bring those 2
mas into phase we have to step them back 2.5 an that would leave us with no ma for that many bars.
If we step the ma forward 2.5 bars we then become 100% out of phase.
Best compromise for me is use the 5 at 0 and accept it being out of phase.
This gives direction that is usable. If a 10ma exponential, hi=lo is placed between the two pac it very closely
cuts the pac in half making it valid to give direction.

The lenghty ma aren't used for direction but S&R.

Hurst has the best work on moving averages.
Maybe Emmanuel has a foxit copy?

The only moving average I learned when I started trading the stock market back in 1980's was a one period simple moving average based on close price plotted on the daily chart. Till today, 35 years on, it is still the most versatile moving average on all my stock and forex charts.

Trade Report Week 37 Sep 11 to 15.

Just managed to closed my last trade pair AUDJPY. Had been a rather tough week with those pairs - EURNZD, GBPCAD, USDCAD, AUDNZD and AUDJPY which I picked for trading in week 36 and continued into this week 37. Now with all trades closed it will be back to weekend planning for next week. Will look at all 19 pairs and pick the best 5 pairs for trading next week.

Negative nett pips for 3 pairs but money wise still in profits , thanks to position sizing strategy taught by Dr Van Tharp and how ME/ME trading can be done.
