For FF. You can censor this video on the grounds of it not being trading related but urge you to not pander to the usual suspects who whine and complain about causing offence. These topics are trading related and need to be discussed. All fundamental issues have the potential to impact on trading. Fundamental issues do include the impact of mass immigration, do include religious wars and other topics however unsavoury they may be to some.
Example, current numbers of Muslim migrants into UK suggest that in as little as 20 years the indigenous population will be in the minority. Obviously that is likely to have an impact on trading, will trading in the City Of London even still exist under sharia ? Will the GBP even still exist or will it be replaced ? I say these are all valid questions and although some topics may appear to have no relevance they are all interrelated. Another example could be the abolition of the Catholic Church, what financial implications would that have ? It is not such a far fetched idea or notion when you consider that Christianity is on course to disapear in the Middle East. I believe that somebody sold them on the mass immigration policy. The bean-counters brought to the fore the state of the government purse when the number of people qualifying for a pension exceeded the number of working-age tax payers. The oversight has been the fact that the incoming throng is welfare and benefit dependant.

The demographics of Western culture are as depicted by that ace video clip that Jen has posted a couple of times, showing how the young upwardly mobile couple end up with no kids whereas the lesser-educated culture-set (not meaning to offend anyone, so apologies there) breed like rabbits. Societal pressure to work and achieve does not allow time for 'having a family'. Indeed the current mindset appears to apply disadvantage to those who strive to have a 'career' and a family, largely by making it financially onerous for one partner to stop work and simultaneously destroying the career prospects of that partner. I lay that squarely at the feet of Margaret Thatcher ... now that my hindsight is fully up and functional.

Oxytocin stimulates the feeling of love, whether it is a mother meeting her new baby or two people falling in love. The falling in love bit is down to oxytocin. So the theory goes that if they give you a shot or ten of oxytocin, you will feel more empathy towards the plight of the poor undocumented migrants refugees illegals.

Ex this I would truly like to believe but seriously "oversight". Oxfam and the BBC alone have for at least the last 40 years been showing us how backward these countries are and the powers that be make an oversight on this scale, IMO I don't think so.

Not so sure about societal pressure but from what I see even for middle income earners the pressure comes from the Bank and trying to keep a roof over the families head. The mortgage is the noose which keeps most people in check who work and the noose for the couch sitters is the threat of sanctions to their benefits. There is a noose for everyone but the few who can say FU to it all.

It's like reverse natural selection, the fittest for this current period in civilization are selecting against themselves. Weird.

I would not blame Thatcher, each person chooses to have a career, or a family. Nobody forced them.

There is a fundamental rule which says that 'interest' is not to be applied to loans ... or something like that.

Apart from being contrary to the very fabric and structure of western economies, I wondered why on that basis anyone would ever go into business to lend money; and equally how would business function when there is a clear need to borrow for capital investment? ....unless, borrowing for capital investment (factories, machinery) is also taboo.

Thatcher threw one of the stones against the family unit when she said that people who want a job should move to a part of the country where jobs are available.

Think about the aftermath of the dying coal mining industry, and some other heavy industries of the more northern counties.

It's going on a different tack than the quoted discussion but on a personal level , no. Christian churches have been right there the whole of my life. C of E and Catholicism being the more prominent brands of choice. In my younger days I just considered it like other things, some people into motorbikes, some into going to church. So always been there in the background although have never personally had a need for it I do think it has been part of the fabric historically and would not want to see it replaced with something which is absolutely not culturally fitting with our society.

Just a quick question: you may or may not give money to charity and this is not a judgemental question or aimed at ethics or morals; but out of interest which charities do you consider are more deserving and requiring more help? (domestic UK and or internationl)

Did you live or were born in that era? Also I am not looking through rose colored glasses, so not sure where you get that inference in my previous statement. I am sure living now was just as exciting to live back then, as it is only relative to the people themselves who lived through certain periods of time.

Salvation Army, definitely. They do local and international work.

Avoid big brands, like Care, or Amnesty.
