I read somewhere in this thread that the MA is 5 and shift is 3....

But thanks, i will use the 5,0 set up now.

The FOMC report really killed the momentum....It nose dive an hour after the release....

Any idea it if it will go back up?

Hi Fated82, from my perception just an epidermic and short lived reaction. S/L was out of reach so far and it could in fact have already bottomed out. Looking on the ichimoku (always a plus as far as JPY is involved) it seems bottom was close to Tenkan sen on the daily and Kijun sen on H4.

For illustration only the pair rebounded on S/L line better visible on H4.

Hello guys, I've been trading this system for a couple of weeks and the results are really good, I've tested many systems with no comparison to this one.

Rules are very simple, just stick to them and you will see constant profit.

Look at the orientation of the SMA, up or down?
I entered short because the retracement of this orange bull candle allowed an attractive entry level in agreement with the short setup signalled by the big violet candlestick 3 days earlier.
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure...

Nevertheless I was stopped yesterday. Another personal adjustment I will include in my trading system is to place my stop-loss orders on the previous fractal before the signal candlestick (the one actually crossing SMA5) +/- 10 pips.

How abt pending orders to factor in retracements - I know that is not per bk8's strategy..

After cashing in on retracement, do you place order per this strategy's signal - in this case sell?

Just wondering if you guys (those who are profitable with this system) are using any kind of indicator as confirmation?

For example I'm using rsi with 7 period and only a 50 line as confirmation. I think it works pretty well but what are your thoughts?

Hello Kski, pending orders maybe but based on what, Fibonacci levels? Not so sure I see what you have in mind.
As mentioned above in case of a retracement after a signal and provided of course that the stop-loss level has not been reached, I would enter or even possibly re-enter in the same direction of the setup with same stop-loss much less distant obviously.

Going through old D charts, .. f.x. AudCad or GbpChf.
Put the sma and bb on. Then slide back back back... and see how the candles, bb, sma behave.
That's what I do. Others can maybe tell you about a good indicator.

Hey Smek, I don't know about others on this thread but I don't use this as a primary type of strategy. I'm a range/breakout trader that focuses on Wave Theory, Harmonics along with key S/R areas. I use this primarily around such areas, I don't use the BB but I do look for divergence with the RSI and candle formations to confirm the cross only in key areas. Hope this helps.
