It's not possible to lose fat without some form of ketosis. That said I've tried low carb and it just doesn't work for me, my legs were shaking after the first day - had to stop because work and training was soo unproductive. I operate much better on carbs.

I used to fast for 18 hours in a row and consume all my food within a six hour window. Worked wonders the first few months, was a disaster thereafter. Nothing in in my experience beats small and healthy. They reckons your breakfast should be your biggest meal and you should graze later at night - I've been trying to follow that trend more broadly.

They say the shakes is a sugar withdrawal symptom. Once you get over the first couple of days. the shakes go. Think it's important to just know yourself and what suits you. When I have too much carb I get wild gout attacks. I've been eating this way for a long time now although I do have the occasional bit of bread and spuds but tend to pay the price for it.

For every one like him there are three who counter what he says. He's vegan, not a healthy diet unless one takes large amounts of supplements. Since much of plant based foods contains cellulose it requires much more of the various vegetable to get the stated nutrition. Humans can not digest cellulose. Humans are designed as omnivores. This allows for survival when animal food products are harder to come by.

The best human diet is high fat (exclude vegetable oils such as corn, soy, canola (rapeseed)), moderate protein, and low carb. The amount of carbs would need to be adjusted on an individual basis as not all can function on extreme low carb intake.

The time it takes to adjust to low carb varies anywhere from a few days to as many as six weeks. The crappy feeling you get is the body converting from burning sugar (carbs) for fuel to ketones. You can possibly get into ketosis at 50g carbs/day if you are larger. For most people it is about 20g or less.

I think intermittent fasting is not designed to be done on a daily basis like that. I have not read much on it so am not that informed.

I didn't realise the doctor was a vegan. I agree, veganism has plenty of shortfalls, namely vitamin B12. However, a vegetarian diet but incorporating fish and seafood has to be among the most ideal. I struggle to get my head around how you can eat a lot of fat and mainly animal fat at that, without much carbs and you say moderate protein! Unless you are munching on a block of lard! As fat has such a dense calorific value, any slight excess to your requirements and you will see that fat deposited around your waistline. Not to mention the furring of your arteries that you can't see which is direct consequence of too much saturated fat and cholesterol. I am not saying that eating fat is bad at all, I am saying in moderation, because fat is needed as a carrier of a number of fat soluble vitamins for a start. Vitamin E is vital for good skin, but too much fat and you will have greasy, acne prone skin.

If you look at the longevity of people around the world, you will see that certain diets and lifestyles trump others. The Japanese eat plenty of fish and carbs. In the Med regions, they eat plenty of fish and carbs. Refined carbs at that. The Japanese also have the lowest level of dementia in their elderly. Why is that?

Eating a lot of meat is dangerous, especially red meat. Without carbs you will have ketosis, which is being debated whether it is a good or bad thing. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that is is a big strain in the kidneys in having to deal with those ketones. Too much ketones in the blood and you will get a condition called
ketoacidosis, which is life threatening. Not to mention the inflammation that eating too much red meat can cause, leading to tumours and cancer.

I am not advocating a high carb diet or high anything else, I am saying all in moderation, but carbs are pretty innocuous so if you were to OD on them, you will just feel stuffed and not much will happen. Carbs are the most useful ready fuel for the body and glycogen is the body's preferred fuel source. Why fight it?
Of equal importance is activity. There is little point having the perfect diet if you are a couch potato. Healthy body, healthy mind.

Yes, totally agree! probably a good reason why the globalists such as the "B" crime syndicate was pushing for common core curriculum in the public school system! Jen ketoacidosis is the big scare story, you would have to have zero body fat for that to happen which can take about 30 days even on the leanest individuals and many lardy's can go months without food and is well documented in the mainstream. So ketoacidosis just won't happen unless you are hell bent on starving yourself to death.
Mainstream medicine has been using ketogenic diet for the treatment of epilepsy as nothing in the drug arsenal comes close to the result of that diet. Many children are living normal lives without seizures because of it. It is also widely used to completely reverse type 2 diabetes. It is misleading to say the body's preferred fuel source as it has been clearly shown physiologically that the body can run on both. That beating lump in our chest runs exclusively on fat. The important aspect to this is the body is amazing in that it has duel fuel capability, so there is no preferred fuel. It is preference but you can always be safe in the knowledge that if famine strikes it is ketosis which will keep you alive when food is scarce. It isn't dangerous it's a life saver.

I was talking about this situation moths ago in that TPTB have allowed the people's voice and now it's time to engineer situations to show us what fools we have been, same deal with Brexit. They are going all out now to convince us TRUMP, BREXIT etc was a knee jerk reaction and we understand but there is a way out of it and we can go back to normal, 2nd referendum, impeaching Trump etc.

As for that guy he must be a total loser how can he possibly put any blame at Trump's door for that Charlottsville fiasco. If he can't see that was an ochestrated setup he needs the lobes looking at ! Not trivialising the death in any way but think fingers should be pointed at the mayor above all.

Tyson was amazing. When I was a kids I used to stay up late at night to watch some of his fights and the next day it was all we would talk about. He was the hardest hitter I have seen. Brilliant in his prime. A perfect boxing machine.... but there were a lot of fighters he was up against that I think were very ordinary and very very out matched, cannon fodder. They did not have a chance.
And a couple of times you see that Tyson was lucid and human in the way that he tried to catch one of the guys from falling out of the ring after he had knocked him out. Shame he had so many negative issues later in his life.

Presidents and Prime Ministers come and go, policies meander like a river in a channel.... there is a lot of hype and buzz but the main golden thread stays the same. Brexit is a different matter. I cannot see it being undone. It is a game changer.
