Taking into account a statement of serial offender Novotny euro hasn't lost much over the last couple of hours in my view.

I was considering opening a long position after EUR/USD finally broke out above 1.1700 but it bounced off from 1.1713 and is currently trading around 1.1650 again. The overall bullish trend could be getting exhausted.
I'd expect it the price could/will be around there or at 1.16370 tomorrow before the FED meeting... and that then we need to watch the 1.1600 level. Right? Anyone agree?
Assuming the FOMC meeting goes as expected, and there are no other surprises, I can see 2 scenarios play out:

1) EUR/USD strengthens right away, maybe even breaking the 1.1714 resistance zone (it's a big one).

2) The markets don't react right away, but sentiment continues to favor EUR (the pair moves higher at a slow pace, for the next week).

I think (1) is more likely. If it occurs, then we can play it several ways:

A. Buy EUR/USD out of the rate decision to ride the move up (take profits before the move wanes).

B. Wait and see if the 1.1700 to 1.1714 level is broken. Then wait for the move to retrace, and buy it then.

Of those, I prefer B, since you wait for a confirmation of the move up (less risky), and once the strong resistance level is broken (if it's broken), price is much more likely to break it again. People from (A) take profits, and price retraces, which allows you to buy cheap. Sentiment won't change easily if that happens, so the pair will keep going up.

As a caveat to (B), price may not retrace soon enough (and you may lose your chance to enter).

There are many other caveats here, but I figure this post is long enough.

Don't worry, you will most likely see them both. It will go down first before the move up.
