Hi deleli,

Good question. I personally prefer scalping, where you would aim at small pip gains with large lot size. With the fast changing world politics and economics particularly these late years I opt to trade with the concept of Fast In Fast Out (FIFO) as defined by cigarguy in FF forum. Check up his thread, BTW. Take a quick look at the last 30 charts and then go to read the 1st page. You will get the idea.

One thing you should take note of is the fact that you will never get whole of the big spike at news time. Widened spread, slippage, entry timing, exit timing, etc. I would be most satisfied if I get half of the spike. I never dream of 20 or 30 pips. 5 to 10 pips is just fine for me.

Apart from news trading charts, vvFish often posts his scalping charts. His scalping is different from cigarguy's method as you will see.

This is vvFish's post with attachment (scripts) used to show the pippet gains/losses. https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...28#post8420128 I suggest all posters use this script on his charts when posting their trades.

Hey guys if you are using trailing stops to exit, what are your trailing stop settings - mine is 5 pips.

@risingsun, in the end i can't trade on windows. yesterday i tried to installed mt4 to my pc workplace and it slowed my pc (its old pc using winXP). so i uninstalled it again. ok, i will try to read cigarguy's thread, the title is: pvsra scalping with cigarguy? i usually open a position about 1 or 2 days before the big news time, coz i read a thread in my country local forum, that he trade using news and he is swing trader. so i assumpt that he in maybe 1-2days before the news. sorry i am a typical person who easy make an assumption that wrong. so correct me if i'm wrong yahh. i use small lot btw, coz i use cent account to practice
uhm, i haven't count how many chart that i look in this thread, i started look it from post #4281. i will count it tonight

You seem to misunderstand. I meant to look at 30 most recent cigarguy charts, and go back to his 1st post, not vvFish's, to understand the FIFO scalping. This is very useful method to earn money. Maybe better suited for you than news trading.RS
