Took 3 trades today. Things seem slow, but tradable PA. But it was boring which tests my patience, especially after being away for awhile. Missed first signal on the way down, but it happens, was looking at emails.

Also spent a little time looking at Vidvad's 4-9-18 ema system but I added MACD. Used the 6B(GBP). Seems to work fine. I also noticed that he going to try dropping the 4 ema, so heres charts with both ways. Actually just 1 chart in this case entry made no difference.

Hi rocky - happy to see you back with us!

What I am finding, rocky, is that the first cross of the 9-18 is generally the best signal, and the 4 ema has already crossed above both the 9 and the 18 ahead of the 9 crossing above the 18. So where the 4 ema is my "trigger" for the 9 ema hi-lo bands, it is not as important when using the 9-18 of the close.

Now, it could be used in an important way: Buy the cross of the 9 above the 18, and stay in the trade until a candle closes with the 4 ema below the 9 ema. That is one use that is on the back burner for me right now.

One thing I do not acknowledge to myself enough is that both the Renko and the Heikin Ashi are themselves indicators. Just a thought that might offer some insight to someone else.

Put it in the oven at 250F for about 3 1/2 hrs remove and let rest then 500F for 15 mins. for a nice crusty medium rare. Horseradish sauce, Garlic mashed potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and dijon mustard

Hi rocky,

Are you finding that it is easier to anticipate a signal using Heikin Ashi on regular range bars rather than on Renko-style range bars?

Trading the NQ is a bit like trying to ride a dragon without getting thrown off or incinerated. Good for you!

nope about the same range bars a little faster. Nq is tough trading even on a trending day easy to get whipsawed. Why i don't treade it anymore.

EURUSD 6E futures up against yesterday's low.

Had a nice double top bear flag short signal around the time of the London open. I will be looking to a short signal here below Previous Low (PL) or a strong breakout above it to get long.

Strong breakout above PL on news but not tradable. Now in a trading range above PL. I added the 4 SMA back which I will use for triggers, but I will probably wait until we get closer to the the NY Stock exchange open to take any trades. Both sides of the TR have had failed breakouts.

Last few days there has been some periods of very fast PA even using 10 tick range bars. Still could of made money but was making me feel like I was chasing PA which I hate doing. After watching it happen again earlier in the 6-6:30 area I switched to 20 ticks bars and that did the trick. Wound up with a excellent day.
I'm posting the 2 charts so you see what I mean, really could've of traded the 10 Ticks chart. But mentally was making me feel less confidence in what i was doing.

Someone PM'ed me not understanding what I mean in the above post. What I'm trying to say is whether its's the 10 tick chart or the 20 tick chart the reality of the PA is the same(fast). But changing from 10 to 20 alters my perception of the PA to a more comfotable level, thereby giving me more confidence in my decision making allowing me not to feel rushed.

"Reality what a concept" I think Robin Williams said it. Which to me always meant, its not what you look at that matters, its what you see.

I don't know why people use PM's to comment and ask questions rather than posting directly to the thread. The only way any of these threads benefits any of us is if we get a level of participation and discussion and sharing of ideas going.

Hi Rockypoint...when you changed from 10 range to 20 range on 6E, I expect you are using a bigger stop loss than 10 ticks? With 20 range bars what is your stop loss. Thanks.

I had a couple of FF members suggest to me that I look at the YM and MYM (US30 mini and micro futures), so in my spare time I've been looking at it.

It has my interest for sure.

Price data is 20 Renko with Heikin Ashi applied to the Renko chart.

The shaded area shown starts at 8:30 AM Eastern and ends at 11:30 AM Eastern.

Indicators are the 9 ema of the high (magenta) 9 ema of the low (cyan) rally swings in ticks (cyan) decline swings in ticks (magenta) 4 SMA of the close (white dot)

I haven't traded it yet, but if you're looking to grab 50 pips per day it sure looks as though the US30 gives ample opportunity almost daily.

I haven't traded this as I haven't been able to work out an initial stop loss. It looks like 50 pips is a very sensible profit target (many of these swing travel 2x, 3x ... 8X that target). Initial risk is key. Win rate is pretty high. But even the winningest systems are subject to variance, and you need to be able mentally and emotionally to withstand the periodic run of bad luck.

US 30 is a work in progress. I thought I'd share this with you all in case it helps someone else get the vreative juices flowing toward a profitable trading plan.
