i am long already on audusd and still in profit but i am considering closing my position because of the news at 12pm.........
i know today is a news dau for aus,so it is not advisable to trade it.because you dont know when your tp will be hit.i trade base off the 4h chart so i sometime held onto my position throughtout the day.

also,i am already short on nzdusd and already got over 120pips,i should be out but,from the daily analysis of nzdusd,it is clear that it had break a strong resistance(i do cosidered trendline aswell),so i aim to exit my position at posibly 300+ pips thats why looking at nzdusd chart above,i removed the tp.because it has a potential of moving over 450+ pips.

anyone been trying to trade this sysytem should keep posting,atleast i will be encouraged to continou the thread.

your chart is a type of this strategy,do you trade this strategy?the settings is the same....
You know, I just opened the PDF and see good old MACD. The first thought in my mind: just another person plopping random indicators on a chart.... finding a few patterns that made pips here and there..... and ignoring where the TA system failed.

MY QUESTION IS: How many of you ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT MACD IS? Now some will say... I don't need to know what it is, but only how to use it. I will say that you aren't a real trader.


I'll give a dollar of demo account money to the first person that correctly defines it (I already looked it up for myself)



The point is, wouldn't it be nice to remove the magic and voodoo of your TA, and ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TRADING? Thanks for hearing the rant.
I guess I'll be the loser to answer:

MACD stands for Moving Average Convergence Divergence it's the difference between the fast and slow EMAs. (The histogram is anyway). The signal line is the moving average of that histogram
i owe you a demo dollar. would you like it distributed in IBFX, FXDD, or FastBroker denominations?

No problem of sharing , after all life is about sharing .............

I just using your setting data on RSI and MACD and put into my indicators .
The RSI indicator I'm using could change color and also have an alert
and the MACD also have 3 colors . This makes things easier to see .

The trend indicator is per attachment in .ex4 file .
You attached this file to expert / indicator folder .
You open the "input" then you can set to the numbers you want .
- RSI
- CCI
- MACD
- MA
- STOCHASTIC

1.By the way, why are some of you using other indicators beside on the one
mentioned in the articles.

2.I am still trying to digest some of the articles concepts like the
stop loss and whether to use MACD with the RSI, confusing to me.
Anyone to clear my confusion.

I agree with TDION... this stuff is weak. However, I think TDION needs to lighten up and offer some encouragement... realistically, in a sideways market or volitile market these type of systems will get crusified. By the time you figure out its a sideways market or volitility is up, it will be too late. Obviously, hes never traded a contracting triangle on the gpb/yen.
Learningman...your new... My advise is to run through the entire gammut of stochs, rsi, macd and others. You ll find there are better settings especially if your day trading. This is a system that would need to be manually traded ..you will need a lot of working hours to catch the right spot. I tried that in my early trading career a few years back and almost died on the 1 am stuff. LEARN TO PROGRAM ! Its easy and worth your time. There are indicators and methods that can do just about anything on these threads. Dream it and it is there. believe me.

the way i trade the strategy is a bit modified........
i dont use the rsi at all...........
only macd is needed for confirmation...........
i look at larger timeframe(daily) for confirmation on where the market is going
then i will wait for a pull back(a pullback may generate a signal on the 4h timeframe,dont take it,instead wait for the trend to continou and you will get a signal in the direction of the daily trend on th4h timeframe.

stoploss is 15-20 pips from ema 55,and target is always 1.5*your calculated sl.

like the nzdusd my target should have been hit if i adhere strictly to the rules but i saw a potential downward move --like 200pips - so i quickly removed my tp and let the market run.now i have put my sl at breakeven.......cheeers

ok tell me about an indicator that can scientifically spot a ranging marke..i want to learn.....free to improvise????
all indicator are telling you when a trend is unfolding and their weaknesses is their ability to tell you when the trend will be over.....thats why we have trend ind and oscilator..
oscilator will tell you the turning point within the trend but a trend idicator will surely tell you the price is going ,joint the trend.when you use the two,you can only be faulty when a price break out.....break against you or in your favour........
you,lets be real,the only and the effective way to use and indicator is to always respect its reading when it support the one of larger timferame.....
that,this indicator is weak in spoting ranging market and you claim that there are indicators which has the potential of telling you that an unfolding trend is false is imposible..........
you have to use your senses.........
be real.........
tell me the strategy you use,and i will tell you its weaknesses....if i am correct,then why do you make money(if at all you make any)..
lets be real.......

Watch , any sign of reversal , jump in and take the ride
BUT remember this pair much influence by the commodity - oil and gold .
So do not forget to also check the prices of these commodities .

Hi all

I'm new to Forex Factory but came across the forum while researching S.A. Ghafari trend system. I've backtested Ghafari's trend system on a variety of ETFs including currencies and commodities and have just started to trade it with my own real money.
