No problem thanks very much, were the 1.2/1.3 done with the same lot size, 0.01? Your 1.3 has around 10x more profit with around 5x or 6x more dd, so better statistics in that sense, but with the increased gross loss... I know the gross loss wouldn't have mattered overall in the back test if it had been live, as more net profit, but it is something I consider.

I like the simplicity of Ultron. To be able to better backtest its performance, I ported the v1.2 source code to MT5. I have seen some other MT5 ports before in this thread, but no one posted the source code. So for those interested, I have attached the port from MT4 to MT5 of the original ULTRON v1.2 code of post #6 without any modifications.

Unfortunately, it looks like the days for Ultron are over. It was probably heavily optimized at the time of release. You might want to try to re-optimize for today's conditions, but beware that there are many hardcoded values in the source code that you would first need to turn into an input parameter for MT5 to optimize.

Thanks for this. Yes Ultron seems to struggle on any version/settings I've tried for around the last year.

If anyone is somehow able to find decent back tested settings where profit has increased over the last year (since around September 2020 I think) then that would be great.

Good that you double check the result! However, please make sure you run a reliable backtest. Judging from your screenshot, it appears you used MT4 to backtest and only used Open Prices. That is not a representative backtest.

I recommend you test again using MT5 using *Real* ticks (not fake ticks). This will automatically download tick data from your broker, simulate slippage and requotes, etc. You will see that the results are completely different.

I can't say for this back test as I didn't do it, but I also use mt4, but with tick data suite 99% accuracy. The end of 2020 to 2021 were very bad for Ultron, whatever version or set I tried. Have you found the same time period to be back tested well on mt5?

I've back tested over and over between 2015 to now, and the last 12 months is just rubbish every time.

Yes, I am seeing the same (see equity curve in post 2342 above).

You need to be realistic. I think the EA was never meant to turn a $1.000 account into $10.000 over the course of a year, unless you take a crazy amount of risk, going in with 1.00 or 3.00 lot size, as shown in the video on post #1. If you backtest you will see that there are quite a few periods of drawdown.

I haven't seen the expectation of turning 1000 into 10,000 in a year?

However it's completely true that there have been long periods of overall loss with Ultron, and this moment could completely be one of those times. Maybe there can be modifications made to deal with the current overall sideways action, however I've been unable to reproduce it.

Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm new to this forum. I modified the ultron for XAUUSD. I've backtested it for a year and the results show around 200% profit with low drawdown.

Is there anyone who can help me backtest this EA for 10 years with 100% quality?

Simply the best.
I back tested Ultron 3.4 and it went down like a 45 degree angle. It was using EU at 15 minutes.
