How to change timezones in mt4.

At 8 o'clock it shows 6. Everything is two hours backwards.
The timezone is set by the server you connect to, not your client application. You can even have different brokers using MT4 who set their timezones do different settings.

The time on my MetaS seems to be Frankfurt,
and I take it from your post that this is something

Yes, you basically have to live with it. It takes a while to get use to but we are powerless to change the x-axis for the time of day on the bottom of the charts. Find out from your broker what their server time is and then use the FF calendar set to that time, then change the FF calendar time to what your time is to 'see' the change. That should help a little.
I created an indicator for myself that places vertical lines on the UK open, US Open, UK close and GMT 00. That's how I get along with it.

Here is the one I use. It has an option to place a dashed line preceding a market open by 30 minutes.

Had the same problem today.

Went back to my reading for awhile and the problem took care of itself.

I don’t trade using MT.

Here it is. I'll describe the settings on it:

UK_Open: I set to 8 GMT - Blue Line
UK_Close: I set to 17:00 GMT - Red Line
BeginDay: This is essentially 00 GMT - Dashed Gray Line
US_Start: 13 GMT - Dotted Gray Line
GMT_Adjust: This is your GMT offset with your broker. The other parameters use GMT time. But, you need to offset based on your broker's server time. So, if you're broker is using GMT +3, put "3" in this box.

I've also made this so that it adjusts for Daylight Savings for the UK and US times automatically (2005 and 2006). So, sometimes you'll see the UK start line at 7 GMT instead of 8 when they are on summer time.

It's a little funny trying to change the indicator once it's on a chart. For instance, going from a broker on GMT 2 to GMT 3 on the same chart would require you to delete the indicator AND delete all the vertical lines, then re-add the indicator. The deinit function doesn't seem to work well to get rid of all the objects and it's never been a big enough pain for me to work on changing it.

Attached is the best trading session indicator I have seen. It is for the London Session. I tried changing the code for times for the other markets, but it didn't work. Any care to try changing the code for the other markets and posting as four separate files in this thread? If so, here are the other sessions and the opening/closing times in GMT: New Zeland (21 to 3), Australia (23 to 7), Toyko (0 to 7), and New York (12 to 20).

This is very useful indicator. But i need more help about this indicator. indicator draws market open or close lines only at the time but i need indicator draw the vertical lines before 24 hours ago. i mean i must see which markets going to be open in 24 hours. i think we can handle this by shifting lines but i do not know how i am able to do this in program. can anybody help me?

this is good. how do i add such to my MT4?
