Quoting alsup1955DislikedSo, if dealing with CFG trader directly, is it a dealing desk?????? or r they a ecn.............Ignored
Quoting stockwetDislikedOh no, they're not an ECN. They use SpotFX to clear their trades. So, you place your trade with them, the dealer at the desk aggregates the trades then places CFG Trades through SpotFX. There are others who know how a dealing desk works better than I do, though.Ignored
Quoting stockwetDislikedI think they're at 50:1. I was going to ask if they ever increase that for certain customers though. I'll let you know if I find out anything different.
For me, it's not an issue. My trading system wouldn't allow me to leverage that much if I wanted to.Ignored
Quoting alsup1955DislikedSo if Coes FX standard and the new MT4 standard and CFG all clear thru spotfx, so how r they ECN's and CFG is not?Ignored
QuoteDislikedFor all you new folks to Forex, ANY broker that offers minis is trading with a trading desk. The interbank market is a standard lot market. Before mini trades go into the interbank market, they need to be aggregated into standard lots first. That's what the dealing desk does.

- Futures commission merchant withdrawn on 8/28/06
they they are operating thru Spot FX Clearing Corp. which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coesfx. Looking further into spotfx, they became an NFA member at the end of Dec 2005. Looks like CoesFX will be going bye-bye. Regulatory actions perhaps made it stink a bit much?
Finally - looking at the books on http://www.cftc.gov/tm/tmfcm.htm?fro...tfcmcontent%29 for spot fx clearing corp - they look fine.
I am glad to hear that Stockwet has had a great relationship with them. Hope it continues.
Quoting stockwetDislikedSome of you know that I've been alluding to an imminent announcement from an ECN that will be great news for a lot of us. Well I've been working with CoesFX for the past month on testing an in-house implementation of MT4. This is exciting news because CoesFX will be the first ECN to adopt MetaTrader. I've used it in demo and am quite pleased with it.
If you're interested you should send me an email (stockwet@g m a i l . c o m). I have some information to provide about my experience with the demo before you proceed to sign up with CoesFX. I also need to explain how to get signed up since I don't think they have released this to the general public yet (read: I know the right people to call over there )
Best,
stockwetIgnored
Quoting ycompDislikedStock,
any idea roughly when CoesFX is thinking to offer this to the public? 1 month? 3 months? 6 months? 1 year?Ignored
Quoting yaskevichDislikedstockwet, are you a rep. of CoesFx ?
Cause I don't understand how you could have tested CoesFx Metatrader 4 before it is released to the general public.
And you so violently speak in support of CoesFx
Don't understand me incorrectly but I met many such fellows that pretended to be independent traders but in reality promoted brokers whose reps they were.Ignored
Quoting ycompDisliked1) If I have 1.0 lots EURUSD long and 1.0 lots EURUSD short will the margin required be 0?
2) so definitely they pay interest as well as charge it? (I know I asked this before, but it is an important point for me... so I would like to know for sure)
3) so standard accounts behave fully like ECN? can someone explain briefly how this would work during NFP.. what would likely happen? or better question to ask really is... how would I trade NFP using CoesFX?Ignored
Quoting stockwetDisliked1. I had the same question. I was going to ask my account rep the other day, but I forgot. I had too many other questions. I know that FXDD treats hedges that way.Ignored
Quoting stockwetDisliked2. As far as I'm told, interest is paid and charged.Ignored
Quoting stockwetDisliked3. I'm not sure I understand the question. The way I traded today is the same way I always trade - using buy and sell stop orders.Ignored
Quoting forestDislikedIt is already live.
I have a live account with CoesFX and am using MetaTrader 4. They are calling it "SpotTrader" and is indeed via Spot FX.
And in case Yaskevich or any of the other doubters are worried, I am not in any way affiliated with CoesFX nor any of it's affiliates. I just wanted an ECN that trades via MT4. It's that simple.Ignored
Quoting ycompDislikedI downloaded that coesfx demo before for MT4 that was floating around the forums... I mean it was a link download directly from the coesfx site. And it had this capability. This is a serious kick-ass feature... so hopefully they are offering it.Ignored
Quoting ycompDislikedbut this demo would also refuse to pay interest, only charge it. At first I thought it was a bug, but there are some brokers that do this. This would be a deal-breaker for me... except I could use Coesfx to trade news.. but not for my regular trading.Ignored
Quoting ycompDislikedwhat I meant was will the order probably be filled? and if there is slippage (because the price was never there) is it possible to prevent an excessive slippage order from being executed through MT4's max deviation from price feature?Ignored
