COESfx is a unique broker, they have an ECN where they get quotes from a number of sources. they dont trade against you either. execution, excellent. reliability, excellent. give them a try, you wont be disapointed.

from what I understand COESfx charges a commission - is this correct?
Maybe it's possible to do some news trading with this broker since there's no dealing desk which may not promise your order and etc. Am I correct?
I have downloaded their demo and it seems that all the currencies have a set spread of 2 pips. Is this correct?

It is 2 pips on the demo, per the welcome email the spreads shoud be tighter in the live version. It is a different platform than I am used to and will take a little getting used to but I like it. There is no charting included with the platform so a 3rd party charting package is needed. The welcome letter outlined a chart company that will contact me with a login and passwd. I looked them up and they are pricey, but sound pretty good. Ill stick w/ MT4 charting for now.
One additional item - I had to download the latest ver of Java to make it work.

They go better than tight spreads. They charge no carry interest which means you can also use them as one leg in arbitrage. I was going to do that but, I disliked their platform so much decided not. There is a round turn cost of course but it is no worse than paying the spread. I think it was 20 a side but am open to correction.

I'm not sure what to take from this, exactly. It sounds to me that the companies involved were acting as introducing brokers for COESfx, and by proxy they were included in the injunction...this doesn't mean they are guilty of anything but having a few bad apples acting as independent introducing brokers...so of course, they are liable to return the money.

Did you get any more info on what will happen to them?

no, its exactly what Im making out of it - just wanted to post it and needed some sort of confirmation or to know whether I had missed something important, as their track record and reputation (at least what one can gather from web sources) seems to be pretty good.

i was wondering if anyone uses this broker during news trades (volitile times)? Do they have slippage? Widen pips? Freeze platform? Log you out during news time (like fxcm)? Or has mysterious "crashes" that is commonly going around with alot of brokers during news time?

indicate their total customer deposits went from 962,851 at end of May 2006 down to 1,212 at end of June 2006.
Well.. i guess thats a bad sign. Nm about this brokerage

Very interestng document from CFTC... Is the figure "x1000" or plan "x1"?

FXCM has a low 250,000 capitalization, OANDA 2,600,000+ and COESFX at 250,000 too?

Does that mean the low capitalized broker could go broke faster?

Hmm.. I dont seem to see NorthFinance in there? Not a CFTC registered company?
