I have saved the jr2007v4 saved and placed in my mt4 custom indicator list. But when I click and drag to my PJ chart nothing happens. Can anyone give me some help? TKS...
Price does what price wants , I just need to be prepared.

It does not go in the indicators list. It goes in the Expert folder. Then you need to close the platform, and reopen it.

hey killer..... what's a "PJ chart"....

jr2007 needs to be in the experts folder not the indicator folder..... be sure to test drive in a demo account first, to become comfortable with it.....

newer version in the works, will be out shortly.... should be simplier while at the same time possibly better..... h
to trade and code, keep both simple... no call to impress....h

You use 4H TF for catching signals and 30 Min TF for EA ?????

What is entry criteria on the lower time frame using the EA? Can you post your set file?

Hey LC;from my basic knowledge;entry is not from the 30min chart but from the daily or 4H(depending);all you trigger on the EA on the 30min chart is the position (either long only or short only depending on the current trend detected on the larger timeframe's chart) on the common tab of the EA.

I guess it answers your question friend

JR, just wanted to let you know, I ran the EA the last half of Friday, the Sunday open, and on to the present, on every pair that IBFX carrries, that met the criteria of the MT4 LSAR and SHI_SilverTrend indicators. I had some stunning results when I woke up this morning, and by the time I got to work, some of that was slipping away. I went through the pairs to see if SilverTrend had changed on any of them, and sure enough they had. I mean, it is POSSIBLE that I missed something this morning when I woke up, or messed something up when I turned some pairs on, but I don't think I messed up... I think it was 4 pairs. Anyway, I closed down the ones the SHI SilverTrend said were no longer active (most were still in profit, but it was a slow process, and I lost a fair number of pips working through it... ahhh, the benefits of a fully automated EA. ....

Anyway, I think my account was up about 25% at one point (in about a day and a half). Then the giveback started, and I'm now up about 13% after 2+ days. Mind you, it was a pretty cosmic day, but it looks pretty.

I am currently showing the following pairs as tradable:

GBPUSD, AUDUSD, USDCAD, NZDUSD, CHFJPY
AUDNZD.

You'll note that leaves 14 pairs marked as NOT tradeable. I've been monitoring throughout today's Asian session and there hasn't been any change to the SilverTrend indicator in that time. I show AUDCAD nearing a possible LSAR cross which would make it tradable; and CHFJPY, and AUDNZD are within reasonable range of an LSAR reversal (so they could go from tradable one way, to tradable the other).

I'm wondering how your 4HR pairings might look. I'm not likely to get the time to do any comparisons today on my own. Maybe tomorrow. I'm also thinking (God help my little laptop) that maybe I should consider comparing daily AND 4 hour charts to pick up more certain trends... But maybe I'm just being greedy... I mean 6% per day will get one rich pretty quick... Let me see... double every 12 trading days ... yep... pretty quick. Makes me think the last couple of days are an anomally.

just in case you might not have it, we will need this in the 'includes' folder for jr2008 to work..... whatever manner you are using to put in indicators or ea's , use that same manner to place orderreliable in the includes...... make sure the name is exact....h

hey femzy....orderreliable is what's known as an 'include'..... includes are collections of functions ..... rather than write the same complicated code over and over , we can include the code once via these type files.....

specificaly, OrderReliable mqh make sure orders are handled in a reliable manner..... or at least as reliable as possible....

if we are runing multiple ea's , sending or modifying many orders , they can sometimes step on each other ..... orderreliable compensates for that......h

I haven't tried lower time frames. Its to choppy. But, if theres a way to trade it, can someone please post.

I donīt have any experience with these indicators ... so if I apply the SHI_SilverTrendsig to a daily chart, do the red and blue dots appaer the moment the daily bar is closed?? ( this is probably a stupid question but I would be glad if anyone could give me a yes or no)

The dots can appear and disappear at any time. This indicator repaints. At some point the dots are "fixed" in place, but I don't know where that is... some certain number of bars later. But I've seen them come on with the open of a bar. I've also left the chart, come back later and find the dot has disappeared. This leads me to believe there is at least a chance they can change from one side to the other. So you have to realize this, and I think it would probably be more maddening on lower timeframes. I'm focused on the daily chart right now, and I thought I was losing my mind yesterday morning. See my last post. I wrote that before leaving work. Drove home, did all the normal things, got tied up with family stuff, and then didn't get to looking at the charts until 6 or 7 hours later... right around the London open. Boom! Suddenly there are only 4 pairs with LSARs and Silvertrends not in agreement. Too many for me to handle before climbing into bed. Only switched on a couple....

... But I've still made another 8 or 9 percent -- so far today. Had a bit more time this morning, so I've now got everything switched on..... Probably going to blow the account with the Fed announcement later this morning; but you'll never know for sure unless you check it out.

Everything I've put on is a .01 lot, so the system is performing pretty well for me to be getting these kinds of returns...

I can hardly wait to see what Hayseed is going to roll out.

So some others were talking about backtesting and such stuff.... isn't backtesting completely senseless if the dots appear and disapear??
If you look at the passed dots of the indicator, basically all the time the blue dots are above the red ones... so it seems that the indicator if it is showing something wrong it corrects itself and always ends up right....

First, backtesting CAN be senseless even with indicators that don't repaint. The key is ALWAYS what and how you are doing the backtest.

With this particular indicator, a manual backtest is in fact, pretty much useless. Now, in theory, if you used the backtest tool in MT4, you should be able to, with data of sufficient granularity, recreate the changes in those dots, pretty much just like it really happens.

... And then that starts you down the road of how good a programmer are you. Because you have to capture the logic that you would personally apply when those signals change. Without that, the system isn't smart enough to show you what you would have done.

I actually really like the SilverTrend indicator. But it is like being married to a difficult woman (or man if you were a woman). You like them, even love them for all you are worth, but sometimes you wonder why. If this indicator behaves enough, and you can devote the time - or have an EA to monitor it all the time, then it will probably work. It may not work well with every pair, especially hyper-volitile ones, unless you can sit and watch it. I don't have that kind of time, generally. So that is why I hope Hayseed will be integrating this into what he is doing with his EA. I'd breath a lot easier if I knew that an EA was going to be watching all the time to turn trading on and off as things evolve.

The final word here is, SilverTrend doesn't ALWAYS change; and it doesn't KEEP changing. It will tell you it thinks a trend is forming. If the trend reverses it will change its mind, but if it continues in either direction, it will have shown you the way eventually. So, money management, as always, is really important.
