Hi,
Today when booting up computer, since everything was so slow as usual, I wrongly ran MT4 twice, but finally I only got one process, and the layout is like years ago, I mean currency pairs and indicators.
Now I'm still keeping MT4 running, without restarting it.
Can I, for example, kill the process, run it and hope it restored to yesterday?
Please help!

Save all your charts in a Profile within MT4.
Make a habit of backing up Profile, Templates, & MQL folders for such disasters in future.

Yes, possibly, abruptly killing the MT4 process might restore your Profile, so long as you do so before you have quit normally.

I posted my detailed reply here in a shared thread of tips so that others may benefit.

It's always amazed me the number of clicks to be able to save a Template and the Profile

I mean it could have been a menu option could it not have been?

You would still have to select the name but the icon could be the Save Template as or Save Profile as in stead of having to choose that

I notice also, even if I have made changes to a Template, and MT4 crashes, unless I have saved the Profile immediately, it still uses the previous chart layout

Not a big problem, just apply the new Template you say

The tab at the bottom of the mt4 platform, which shows the current profile, if you left click it, the "save profile as" menu appears.
If you click the drop down menu & select the same name again, then you can save the profile that you have just updated.
This is what I find quick & easy.

Thanks, I didn't know that, however, it is still the same number of clicks = 5
