Well the basket did go over 600 pips, and before I had the lock set to 250 it closed on 250, I wanted to increase the profit lock.

Yes but I also had the "keep TP active after profit lock" setting on true so it should not have closed the basket and it should have kept the basket going.

hey mrdfx:

The "keep TP active after profit lock" means that either the EA hits the TP or the Lock and closes the basket. It does not mean that the EA will ignore the Lock, that is set on every steplock increase.

In order to do what you wanted to do, use the "Manual Lock". That will override the StepLock stuff.
You can then change the value of the Lock manually, move it up or down as you see fit. If you need to go back to the auto step lock then just set the Manual Lock input to 0

For example in your case, say you started the EA up and had it set to Lock with the following inputs:

StartProfitLockat 500 pips
PercentLevel lock = 50%
Step Lock=25
Manual Lock = 0

At this point as the profit goes 500 or above in 25 pip increments the EA will set the profit lock at 50% of the total profit.

at 500pips Lock: 250pips
at 525pips Lock: 262 pips
at 550pips Lock: 275pips
etc etc etc

So then say that you saw your profit at around 800 pips (lock is 400 pips at this point) and you decide well I want the lock to get closer than 400 pips. All you need to do is set the Basket_Manual_Profit_Lock input. Say you set it to 700 pips. The EA will now use 700 pips as a lock instead of the 400pips. You can then change it manually as you see fit. If you need to go back to the auto profit lock, just set Basket_Manual_Profit_Lock=0;

Q: Is there already an incremental lock ?

The more lock steps taken the closer the lock moves to the current pips.

Weekly basket, TF, level 2. Actually reached 1000 pips yesterday mid day. I would have been happy with 500, more than enough pips. See you all next week for the next round.

EDIT: forgot to mention, basket opened monday 09:00 GMT

Yes, cause the movememt of the Lock is based on the percentage of the total profit. So the higher your profit goes the higher, by % of that, the lock goes. To an extent the position of the lock is dynamic in that it is not fixed as isseen by other trailing stops.

The FIFO strategy completed under 50 mins for the 2% gain, probably more to be had but I have read often enough, to be successful "stick to the rules"

Good questions ... The question I would ask myself ... which pair to trade the buy or the sell and then you are manually deciding.
For me so far the automatic selection strategy works so I have no intention of changing it at this stage ... it really boils down to; you must be comfortable with your own trading ... the strategy may not be perfect but it works so far ...
As far as the indi giving the incorrect output, can't answer that one but did open the same indi in the same terminal and it is below and is different, then looked at the FIFO terminal and it is correct, so who knows?

My 9 monthly baskets has 79 trades this month, yours have 193 trades.
Are you still using the settings from the post quoted above or you added more baskets?
Are you planing to open the July Monthly baskets Monday(bank holiday) or Tuesday?

I decided to close the basket on Wednesday evening once I saw that pip gain from 24 hours earlier had slowed significantly, I think there was about a 100 pip gain from Tuesday evening to Wednesday. So decided to get out before any major trend correction.
