Heiken Ashi is a very seductive indicator. It looks so simple and elegant on a chart that anybody could trade off it. Several years ago I spent months trying variations of HA including HAS and combinations with other indications and all failed in backtesting. The results were comparable to a coin toss. The problem is that HA will whipsaw your account with many losses in choppy markets. It was profitable in trending markets, but its signals were late for entry and exits, so that you leave profits on the table compared to manual trading. It does a bit better on higher TF than say the 15M because it takes fewer trades but the risk is higher.

Take a hard objective look at any chart and you will see what I mean - don't go by first impressions - it is very deceptive.

Have you found a thread here on FF that uses HAS as its core indicator? I think not. Others use it to confirm other signals not as a primary signal.

High frequency trading is for professionals only. It will only result in faster account drawdown for traders like us.

I don't understand your trade count - it looks like some kind of Martingale, but that doesn't matter much. I see 2 trades at most and the first is very profitable, the second long trade would still be open as per your chart.

You were very selective in your choice of an example. The U/J was in a strong down trend during that time. Right now it has been going sideways for the last 2 hours - only losers.

You cannot cherry pick your trades and expect an EA to be profitable. Look at results for at least one week. When I did my back testing I would run it on 3-4 months of data at a minimum. I should have mentioned that my demo testing had just as bad results.

Here are some of my comments from that time.

The U/J has been in a strong trend for two months. What do you suppose will happen the next two months?

The G/U has been looking choppy lately. The Brexit had a strong impact several months ago, but what is the next momemtum event and more importantly, when?

In my example, a sell order opens at the open of every candle in the red trend of the Heiken Ashis, where they all close at the first blue candle. That results in nearly 30 trades, from the start of every real candle that would have an overlay of an heiken ashi candle.

I think your topic title and first post are very misleading and that is how I misunderstood your scheme. What you are describing is not High Frequency Trading and I don't know what to call it. HFT is taking multiple trades per second usually to arbitrage some situation.

You and I will never be able to trade like the banks or any other pro. They have the capital, information flow and the cost structure to make trading profitable.

Running it on a restricted basis like you suggest should be possible without an EA. Give it a try for a month in demo. You probably will find other rules to refine it. Post your results here so that everybody can see and you might get some attention.

The London and NY opens are not compatible with my sleep cycle, so I cant verify. I will try it visually, but that is full of pitfalls.

Dont give up.

There is an article in MQL5.com that uses the exact strategy, together with EA, and its test results.

https://www.mql5.com/en/articles/91

I downloaded the code, ran a cursory test on EU with M15 setting, and the results....were not too encouraging...
Any ideas for improvement ?
