No but seriously I have a systematic setup on 1 tick chart, but its' not magical its the risk management that accompanies it that makes it successful ("cough cough martingale " ), Also I have to trade it manually don't think it can be done auto.

PS

Is it possible to have HFT strategy without clients? I thought it was about getting in front of Big orders...

i dont think you need to have client orders to trade in HFT... you could trading against a market maker / broker ..

there is the other kind where you are the market maker .. i.e. letting clients trade against you ... either way the technique & tricks are the same

these days its all abt speed of execution & latency...

so you need some tricks to be able to guess where the next ticks might be..or use tech levels etc etc to better your system...

anyone with more ideas or leads?

HFT?
nice thing to make huge amount of money in one day, problem:
-need to have VERY fast computers and internet connection (also its good to be close to stock market phisically)
-need to be very good (i mean really gooooood) at math....

for instance, i study computer science: software engeneering. and we had a topic about artificial intelligence-thats something you could use on stock market even playing on normal computer... wonder what result would it give

From what I understand, HFT is not realistic for the individual trader.

As the poster above mentioned, you would need to purchase property and a line close to one of the exchanges, have extremely well equipped computers as well as programmers. It requires a vast amount of money and know how that wouldn't really be realistic for someone starting from scratch.

Ignored
If someone share any ideas for HFT systems here, I'm sure you will not use it in retail trading
