Business Related Forex Thesis ideas?

Hey all,

Im currently in my final year at University and have to write a Thesis/Dissertation. Im studying Business/Management and have always been interested in the Forex Markets (just started to consistently trade profitably).

I now have to write a Thesis/Dissertation and would love to be able to combine it with my Business/Management course Our lecturer is always suggesting to do something you enjoy.

I'm just brainstorming some ideas and was just wondering if anybody had any ideas of potential topic areas that would be interesting to look into relating Forex to a business degree.

You could try to compare the similarities and atrributes that profitable traders use when making decisions compared to other good business decisions.

measuring risk to the potential reward
measuring momentum and so on...

might be worth a thought...

It's hard to choose a dissertation. Its refreshing that you are naturally thinking outside the box instead of being pushed.....

Dissertations have to be very specific so maybe :
Brexit ....Economic effects of leaving the EU...
The effect of Quantative Easing ....

I would combine it with the statistical and probability side of the degree which I'm assuming your business degree covered. Use the expectancy of a system to design a business plan with appropriate risk management etc. That you could take to potential investors and create a company around.

Trading is a dirty word at UNI though, so perhaps based on a longer term strategy closer to "investment" would be easier to sell to your marker. Will also give you more to write about that's in line with your course material.

Just do a SWOT analysis and you will have plenty of material. Some ideas:

S - liquidity, volume, hours of operation, multiple edges
W - availability to fundamental data, random movement, stop hunts, spreads, ability to trade while family sleeps, trading psychology
O - Hedge vs Prop, Bank vs LLC (unincorporated retail trading is not a business), ability to compound risk quickly
T - regulations, taxes, electric/Internet connections, equipment, broker ethics

From a Business Management perspective, that will be tough. Ideally, you will have no boss, no employees, no customers, no products, and no sales. All you are managing is your "edge" (technical/fundamental), your time, your risk, and your mind. Math, an alarm clock, accounting, and gambling mentally. Good Luck

Hey, The same here I am required to write a thesis. and my major is international trade and economics. I was about to choose a topic on Forex. How it all went with you?
