N-Ticks charts are price-time graphs of candles each of which has equal number of ticks. The EA must be attached to M1 Charts, and the minimum number of ticks is N = 2. In such charts the tick volume of each candle is equal to N. In the following chart, N is set to 10 ticks.

Pardon my ignorance but how can I get past data, why does the offline chart start from only right away?
Let it turn and find your entry.

MT4 platform does not save ticks data, the finest data available are Open, High, Low and Close of M1 candles. In the absence of history ticks, Ticks Charts can be created from live ticks only.

Hi MathTrader7,
first of all an enormous thank you for all your brilliant trading stuff !!

Meanwhile I prefer using tick bars and for that I want to ask if you could think about
an update of the n-tick chart creator ?
It would be great if it could work on multiple charts.
And the bars should not be deleted if the metatrader4-platform is closed.

Hope you understand what I mean- Thanks again- Thomas.

Hi,

The difference betwen tick chart and renko is the following :

  1. The principle of a renko chart is to only show you moves that are a certain amount of pips or % and the change in direction is only showed if price action goes beyond the "filter" values
  2. Tick charts show you every tick, it doesn't matter what the price action is. A change in bid or ask => new tick. Therefore there is absolutely no filtering on such charts

Have a good day,

Hello MathTrader7 .
I have a question:

You wrote: "The EA must be attached to M1 Charts...."
For me, it would be convenient to install your adviser to the auxiliary chart. I switch the timeframe for analysis (M5, M15, H1).

Q: Can I install on your adviser auxiliary schedule, which is not M1?
Stay hungry to be free...

Since i didn't test the advisor for the moment, I can't be sure, but if MathTrader7 has followed the same logic as with his previous indics/ea, M1 is recommended because calculations start with the appearance of a new candle (after having attached the EA) => if you place the EA on a H4 chart that just had a new candle drawn, you will need to wait 3hxx before the advisor starts drawing anything on your offling chart.

However, if the previous problem isn't a concern for you, i guess the advisor should work on any other timeframe (tick chart creation is based on the change of either bid or/and ask price which should be the same on M1,M5, M15, ...)

Btw, changing timeframe while having an EA attached, the offline tick chart might be erased and drawn again with each change. I think it would be best to have an empty chart so that you can attach the EA, and another chart used for analysis.

Have a nice day,

Hello denya,

In the current version, as Akh12851 has explained, it is not possible to switch between timeframes of the chart to which the EA is attached. I will try to find a solution for this in the next versions.

Best,
Math

To Math: do you maybe have any indicator to measure time used to form each bar in the tick chart? something like a histogram in indicator window maybe?
