Hmm... regarding comments about news, fundamentals, and manipulation...

To each his own, however you view this. For me, I do not care. I look at the chart on weekly/monthly, and trade based off of that.

Any spike in price, regardless of cause, will either put me in profit, or give me opportunity to add to my position. However, having said that, I don't mean I will trade while price is going crazy. I'd prefer to wait till it settles down, then decide how to manage it.

I think there are some scenarios where it might be good to avoid trading close to news time, but with gold and silver being in a strong uptrend on long-term charts, I felt relatively comfortable holding positions through NFP...

I'm buying, probably sound like a broken record, as I've posted a few times already about it. But I will not sell gold anytime soon. As long as market fear is driving the price up, I will only buy.

Spike in price usually cause troubles especially for traders who have profit target and stops in place for all their trades because it will gives more slippage for SL and less on TP.. It will also cut your risk:reward ratio in the long run.. Unless a trader employ a strategy that average down, or use mental stops, it's more likely to do more harm than good.. Just my 2 cents..

Recap:
1. The first big mistakes - Technical failure and not using proper SL, Over leverage, too much confidence, and consecutive lost after - Cost me to -30% account size down from 30% profit. Succeed to recover to almost 10%.
2. This second big mistakes - Over leverage, too much confidence, and again not using proper SL - Cost me to -59% account size down from -5% loss. The recovery still in the long process. Hope it went well from -57% no matter how many days it will going through to the "Independence Day".

Over leverage is the killer for most, hope you'll recover soon from your losses! Just hang in there and things will turn out better..
