Gates Foundation has been giving back for many years. Especially active in eradicating infectious diseases in poor countries - malaria, HIV, etc. There's no NGO that has done more than them in this field.

Since there is massive spending there is going to be a greater GDP when this is over. I think the DOW is going to soar higher than ever imagined..

If Europe falls first then there will be no recovery and the DOW will drop more then.. The devaluation of the USD is to follow..If Europe comes back into the fold then the DOW will soar.. EUR is important.. GNP in the US is massive and people will work again its not like they not going to ever leave the house again..

If that USD falls we will look inward and know that we have no almost 0 Manufacturing.. and world will not need the US.. Because all of the need can be derived from the EAST.. and the WEST can provide none.

The Pro EU used to say, "if Greece left it would weaken the ECB/EU". Greece is still there, and w/o tourism. Greece will be as broke as ever. The eu has about 10% of GDP dependent on tourism. With all this, unemployed people are not buying BWW/Volkswagen etc. That kicks Germany in the balls. Not to mention Italy, Spain and France tourism. Or French car companies.. Airbus, car making, tourism, etc isn't coming back magically, for years. How long b4 some countries (default) need bailouts?

Now let's add Great Britain has flew the coop. Great Britain has a much larger economy than Greece. Those Pro EU cheerleaders have lost their voice. Just saying, the oil drop dont help GB either.

Guess who else buys from the EZ and China. If your number one customer is buying less (U.S.). You sell less. Bad times in the U.S. insures "bad times" worldwide.

Even if corona would magically disappear, the effects will last for years or decades. We are not magically going back to the way it was in February. Get used to it. Savings have been burned. Wealth has been transferred to others. Money is never lost, it just changes owners. The people at the lower economic circles lost wealth. Maybe not evident today. Give it a year. Post mark this post.

I understand everything you said.. There is an even bigger pictures that scales back to the 1970.. You are right.. The only variable that wasnt around that is now are the subsidies it now is at a level that cannot be functional for any gov. the only way to close the gap and reset would be raise gold prices.. Even though we are on petro dollars..

some things are going to change, not possible yet to see how. My hope is that experience will teach us that we have real problems in our health care system and we need to get out of the regressive model that we've been stuck in and engineer universal health care. Income inequality, energy independence, lots of other implications....

Stocks, though - they will be jetting north as soon as there are signs that normalcy is coming back, the virus is becoming manageable, etc. The stock market is not the economy. We might see a retest of the recent low in the next 2-3 weeks, but by June, the S&P will be trading >3,000. Mark this post.
