I was just going over tomorrows announcements and we may see some very heavy momentum beginning at 02:45 ET and then for the next 11 to 12 after wards...... On all currencies

You know if things go as scheduled for the USD/CAD we could see parity by 0745 est tomorrow...i have traded this pair alot....and made many pips here..so lets see what happens...

I sat it out, but toward the end got a few pips. I can't trade the news (GFT Forex prevents that, you'll get requoted or filled at a stupid price), so I sit out and get a few after the action. I am just chipping away a few pips at a time. LOL

I keep it handy just in case.
Most of the time the U/J does a retrace when there ius big big news that moves it, but the AUD/JPY didn't retrace fast, very slowly coming down in bits and chunks...

DOes CFI stand for anyhting in particular? Like "Certified Flight Instructor?" I fly, and thats what they call fllight instructors... do you fly?

Unfortunately, only as a passenger! CFI are the intials of a former fixed income firm. Use to do a lot in fixed income but moved over to currencies.

Hey bristol, better late than never I spose... I had actually done a chart earlier to show you the difference, and forgot to post it. So I'll wear the hat for awhile...

Notice how this one is drawn much differently from swing high to swing low in a completed cycle, and in the direction of the move (orange arrow). I think you used the daily low at around 5pm, so that's a bit different from yours. I haven't seen your chart, so am guessing.

If price had continued to drop after 5pm, that cycle would still be in progress, and we would not have a low yet, so in this case I think this method is more accurate

That said, you can fib anything for any reason and draw something from it.

Here's an example of a "fib within a fib".

The blue shaded box is the same area as the one in the first chart. Notice how price has dropped to and respected the range between the (minus) -50% and - 23% fib extensions... shaded ellipses at bottom of chart.

I'll use the 2 fibs together to see where price reacts.
