On the one hand, the oscillator indicators on D1 show divergence so it’s a strong signal that USD/JPY is ready to lift off. But I think I would wait a bit to get additional confirmation.

yeah, but the market is 200pts up. It was alos conflicting with gbpusd short. Cause both have usd so if one goes sharply lower then other one rises.

I think Biden Admin is manipulating the job numbers. With so much debt and inflation, I don't understand how the USD is so strong.

It's to be expected

1. DXY has fallen from 113 to 101 in only 3 months without any "real" pullback.

2. The "market" kept saying the FED was going to pivot and there was massive shorting of USD

3. ZeroHedge wrote an article 1 or 2 months ago about the US jobs data and how it is being "corrected" several months AFTER the fact.
...because you never know - until you do!

There goes the bullish play I have been waiting for. Kept blowing my stops before I could add more. Perhaps the 137 that Elliotishans have been calling for is in play. I am leaning more towards this being the beginning of a 5th wave on the Daily to the upside. BUT I could be wrong.

USDJPY price action on the daily time frame has broken above an area of consolidation after a bearish retest of the 126.100/131.500 horizontal support zone (blue) seen on the weekly time frame. We may see further northward move in the early part of this week.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

USDJPY price action on the daily time frame turned sideways after a bearish print on Tuesday at the upper boundary of the 131.500/126.100 horizontal support zone (blue) seen on the weekly time frame. The technical pattern favours further southward move.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

I almost took some shorts at 134, but got cold feet. Using smaller time frames seems like trouble for me.

tried higher here at 134.14, for a scalp...

edit, got lucky and covered for 7 pips...

Not sure why you almost went short. Don't triangle rules state that you wait for price to exit the triangle, then retest it? It exited to the top, and retested and then continued.

Now that you mention it, sounds about right. I was kinda looking at something else, these wicks on the 30 min.

PS, couple of suspicious looking wicks on the hourly also now...maybe we see a small pullback again, but I don't expect much
