{quote} I am not as smart as most people but I think it would be easier to remove the -1 displacement and just state use current opening bar or previous closed bar. Am I missing something?

thank you for your comment Kaylan and since!

but here is the point i am still not sure.

should we use the current open bar (COB) as a signal trigger (which repaints)? or the previous closed bar (PCB)?

The rules are not cast in stone! use whatever you feel works best for you.
I use -1, Kaylan uses 0.

that is not my question. if its -1 or 0...it really doesnt matter. i know that;-)

my question is: should we use the current open bar (COB) as a signal trigger, which repaints? or the previous closed bar (PCB), which doesnt repaint?

I can appreciate your frustration wanting a black and or white answer so you know how to trade.

The thread originator ComoxBluejay tried to answer your question as below.

[quote=ComoxBluejay;7809653] I don't wait for anything to 'Match up'. Just trade in the direction of the last bar painted by the NonLagMA.

In my opinion

I take that to mean the current bar (which may repaint)

I do tend to agree with this, as the previous closed bar is historical and therefore lagging. It is supposed to be a Non lagging indicator therefore you can only use the latest bar as your indicator

It is not a precise mechanical system therefore common sense must be used along with the indicators you use.

As Boo15 says It's horse's for courses whatever works for you.

hope that helps.

You will notice I had a small loss.
this was due to trying a defective EA on the system (Not yours Boo15)
It opened and closed two trades with in one second each (see chart below)

I have blanked out some trades using different pairs as they are not results for the Lazy trading method.

As a matter of interest yag, did you take the trade on the line chart as a buy? and did it hit your TP and get green pips?

thank you for your detailed answer. i actually understand a lot better now and i realize that "non lagging" means fresh, but there is a discretionary part in it. and that's where the advantage of this system lies.
i will, as i have done so far, use all my knowledge i have gained over the past years. in any case, this "non lagging" indicator is a great help.

I took the 9 am trade before the hour, which was against the rules.
But sometimes when things look right you have to bend the rules.

Come 9am and the trade rules were there.
