Hi Pips, is there a way to add Magic Number ? so we can check each trade taken by EA? currently we cannot differentiate the trade.

2016-Oct-08: New "P4L OrderHistory.mq4" (V13) released.

  1. Per request, new option LimitToMagicNumber_GtEq_0 (default -1, not_limited). Specify a number >=0 if you want to restrict matching trades to the specific magic number. (Note: This new feature has not been rigorously tested but ought to work. Report any problems.)
  2. New option StartByRemovingPreviousObjects (true). Set to "false" if you intend to add to existing matches. It is most useful if you desire to see >=2 magic numbers displayed on the chart, because otherwise the usual default would be to remove the previous matches.

Great thread pips4life...I need script or EA that can display history of actions of any trailing stop EA.Script should display exactly when and at what price trailing stop EA started trailing the stop and when is stopped trailing with relevant details.I am testing a trailing stop EA and need to make sure its functioning as expected.Can you script perform this function?Please let me know.Thank you.

Hi Pips4life,

Excellent thread. Can you please modify the attached indicator to show the progressive increase or decrease of lots traded for each trade?

The attached indicator is printing the trade number and pip value of the trade.

Can you please modify to include lot number for trade no 1 and total of lots used for trade 1 and trade 2 on a progressive scale thereafter for trade 3 onwards. the objective is to know how much risk is increasing or decreasing in terms of total lots.

Similarly if you can include input for the progressive pips value starting with 2 nd candle onwards, it will be excellent.

iexposure shows the net lots but not the net progressive lots with each candle.

When I load P4L Order History in my chart I get the following error:

2016.12.16 06:55:25.445 cannot load 'C:\Users\Felipe\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\3294B546D50FEEDA6BF3CFC7CF858DB7\MQL4\Libraries\P4L OrderHistory LIB.ex4'

How to fix this?

Hi, I really want it to work on my chart, but the mt4 app freezes after I click ok. Before it freezes, it shows the menu no problem, I can still change the contents on the input part but if I press ok....
I added the mq4 file on script folder.
I use mt4 mac version (4.0 built 950)
Does anyone know what's wrong with it?
Do I need to change something on "input" part?
Any alternations, indicators do the same job?

Please help me~!

That LIB file is private. I haven't released it, and it should not be needed for normal operation.

I verified that when I set aside my copy of the LIB file, the regular script still compiles without problem, and it works fine when run on a chart.

Are you using default options, to display trades from your own "Account History" ?

Or are you trying to use an Input file? Fyi, the LIB file is related only to loading a non-standard Input file. If you are loading an input file, how was it generated? Can you upload it, or at least cut-and-paste at least a few lines here?

ANYONE asking for help with any kind of problem should include the following:

* Exactly what steps are you doing? (Give details. Include whether all default options, or do you customize any)

* Did you put this *script* in the proper location?
In MT4, do File -> Open Data Folder.
Navigate into MQL4\Scripts\ The "P4L Order History.mq4" goes here.
Navigate to MQL4\Files\ This is where the Input/Output files are.

* What is your computer operating system? Win7? Win10? Mac?
( FYI, I use Win10, and previously used Win7, both without problems)

* If using a Mac, maybe that's your problem. I'm guessing, but it seems not to be fully compatible, and I don't have a Mac to even try it.

* What Broker? (Shouldn't matter, but sometimes it is a key factor. If you tell me, there's a possibility I would install a Demo MT4 and try it)

* What MT4 build? I am on the latest, build 1065.

* What is the symbol name on the chart? (Example for mine: EURUSDpro (notice the "pro" suffix. Doesn't matter, other than it must be consistent)

* If using an Input file, is it also using "EURUSDpro", or just "EURUSD"? (Sometimes it would be different if imported from another broker. Fix the Input file by search-and-replace in Excel or a text editor).

The *private* LIB file I mentioned above is for the purpose of reading StrategyTester trades. But it won't do what you want anyway.

I am not aware that Trade history can track such changes, after the fact. The history is only a snapshot of whatever the settings are, or were, when the trade was closed. The SL/TP settings may well have changed, especially by a trailing stop, but nothing records all those details, as far as I know.

At best, you could try using an indicator that reviews all open trades, and checks the stop loss setting against the peak price. If the SL ever varies above what you expect, your EA may have a problem. (However, you only know the "Bid" price on a chart (the Sell price). This works fine for Buy trades, which trail "Bid'. But trailing stops for Sell trades trail the "Ask" price, which is not available in the trade history. Most broker speads vary, sometimes a lot, so any validation of your EA's trailing stop should have a tolerance for some discrepancies, at least for Sell trades).

I know of no such indicator and am not interested to write it, but you could hire someone or ask around.

2017-Jul-04: New "P4L OrderHistory.mq4" (V14) released.

  1. Per request for a way to suppress cancelled orders from display and/or the output, there are two new options:
    DONT_DisplayCancelledOrders (false), and
    OUTPUT_SuppressCancelledOrders (false). Change 1-or-both to "true" to suppress cancelled orders.
  2. Changed default for Start_Date_OR_Number_of_weeks="ALL" (ALL *visibile* Account_History. Previous default was 8 weeks).
  3. New variable, TextAnchor = "Upper" (aka CenterUpper), same as old default. Now user has control over which anchor
    to use for the TextLabels, and "UL" or "UR" might be easier-to-read alternatives, since the text edge will better line up with the trade itself.
  4. New variables for user control over the Line Style/Width. Same settings as before:
    ProfitLineStyle = STYLE_SOLID; //SOLID=0//
    ProfitLineWidth = 3; // ANY non-SOLID style choice *MUST* use Width=1. This MT4 rule is enforced in start().
    LossLineStyle = STYLE_DASH; // MOST likely choice to change, to "STYLE_SOLID" (0)
    LossLineWidth = 1; // If above changed to STYLE_SOLID, then likely use "3" also, or maybe "4" for Profit line.
    CancelledLineStyle = STYLE_SOLID;
    CancelledLineWidth = 1;
    Note: The Loss lines, if STYLE_DASH, are harder to see, but currently, all SOLID lines indicate Profit-or-BE. It's your choice to customize or not.
  5. Fixed potential bug when using an INPUT file, that if the Symbol() name differed only by case but not spelling, it would not display trades. However, usually when an INPUT file (from another broker) is used, the user should manually edit the symbol names to match the current broker, editing case/prefix/suffix so the INPUT file matches your current broker. (Examples: EURUSD, EURUSDpro, EurUsd, EURUSDc, xEURUSD. Make the input file consistent with the broker you intend to display trades on)


PLEASE NOTE: If you prefer different defaults for variables, you can always make the simple change(s) you desire in the .mq4 source file and "Compile" it. Then when you add this script to your chart, it will have the default choices you prefer.

Really appreciate your works and your kindness of sharing.

I'm thinking of adding input filter before visualizing history. Whether all history will be visualized, put into existing charts, or it should create new charts for all order in history.

I trade 23 markets and analyze manually. every chart is valuable, containing realtime of fibonacci, horizontal line, text note, etc.. which cant be replaced with mt4 template.

Another feature, options to clear all visualisation order history in all existing chart. Required in case we'd like to share our point of view to other traders, without distracted by visualisation history.

What do you say?

I don't really fully understand what your asking for, specifically, but I'll guess.

Regarding "adding (an) input filter", you already have the option as to how many weeks, or from some specific date, do you want to display trades for. (And as always, be sure that "All History" is selected for the "Account History", because if you can't see a trade in your "Account History", the script can't see it either).

Regarding your use of templates... the "P4L OrderHistory" is a *script*, not an indicator. It runs once and exits. Therefore, it cannot be added to a chart template, which typically contains just indicators, sometimes a few objects, but never run-once-and-exit scripts like this one.

You run the script only when you want to see trade history on the chart. (You can make this trivially easy to do if you assigned an MT4 hotkey to run the script. Right click over the script, and use "Set hotkey". Pick some Cntl+key that isn't already defined for something else; test the key before you redefine it).

After you run it, yes there is the trade history on the chart. If you want to remove the trade history, actually, you *run the script again*, but change only one of the options: Make "DeleteCreatedObjects" as "TRUE", and it will remove whatever was previously added to the chart.

If it were an indicator -- which is possible but I'm not interested to make the change, because I don't really want it for myself -- then it could behave a little different than a script does. For one, it could be part of a template. Another is, when removed from a chart, it could delete all the objects it creates. The drawback to it being an indicator is that it would be triggered with every tick. It would be a pure waste to completely check-and-redraw all the history with every tick, therefore some new strategy for how often to update would be necessary to define. (Every new bar??). It would be a bit tricky to detect "new" or real-time trade history. I have no idea how to detect changes to "Account History" filtering, which changes what history is available to the script. Finally, I suppose it could track and redraw "open" trades, but that means it would have to selectively delete only those objects and redraw just those. Probably tedious, and would take a little coding effort to change the way it's currently written... again, which I'm not interested in. Maybe someone else would like to do so??

Sorry, I havent tried script myself when post message earlier, thought previously script generating new charts for all pair based on history (not limited to pair where script is attached to).

Also for cleaning up by reattaching and setting input deletecreatedobject = true works perfectly.

So at the end, it simply works perfectly as expected.
Btw I'm not expecting indicator either, script is better.
