Hy dear Magix, I have 2 Questions: 1.) on top here, the trade explorer view, shows 2 different EAs. The lower one, the "TDI_TOE" is that our xmas_TDI? 2.) what is the top one in trade explorer, the "Christmas Next Gen". Is that our xsmasbot_2? Because the top one shows a much better Equity/Balance ratio ... {image}{image} I wish you and yours a nice weekend, Dietmar
Ignored
Hey Dietmar,

You are correct, the lower one is the TDI_TOE version that was released previously. It has been in test with the Next Gen for the same amount of time and yes, the graphs seem to show a nice tale of equity/balance.

The issue with the Next Gen is lot sizing. There is a lot more risk and without being able to provide accurate information on this, it is being tested by myself and a couple of others for improvements and to see if it can be throttled back a little better.

Both NextGen and TDI_MAX work with a different cost average logic. This logic doesn't know the meaning of restraint and can easily hop into a Standard lot size trade in the course of a single day. Feel free to visit the myfxbook link HERE (http://www.myfxbook.com/portfolio/xmas-next-gen/761893), and view the historical trades to see what I am talking about. I have worked with this ea for about the same amount of time I have worked with the SWB variants shared here and at the OBOS thread, and the MAX logic is a lot more dangerous to smaller accounts, thus my reason for holding it back.

Once I have input from my selected testers, a lot more information on how it will continue to act and react to market conditions and see if any changes will improve on this, I will forward this out to The Christmas Bot Thread Members.

I've had a couple of bad health days this week and have been a little restricted in my efforts, but with a couple of extra hands on deck, I will work on getting this ready for the New Year.

Great looking tool!

I have added it to the first post of the OBOS thread for others to easily reference.

Thanks!

Centrinos,

Awesome!

I am personally not testing with any 4 digit brokers and this may skew the results based on the TDI.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could either open up a trade explorer or a myfxbook link for comparison.

It is hard to say if the 5th digit offers smoothing or creates more by way of false triggers.

Time frame and grid spacing are the biggest considerations with this version, and was initially written for the M15-H1 TFs. Anything shorter, especially down to the M1 increases the risk factor greatly as it is based on the speed of movement. Given the fact that the faster TFs will show a lot more by way of headfakes, this methodology would be greatly impacted for the better moving up the line of time.

Taking that and wrapping up the New Year and there is probably not a lot by way of grids that will do great by way of performance.

Welcome to the thread and Thanks for the input!

For another set of eyes on the possibilities with the Follow the Leader EA and trade logic, DarkForce as well as other members that share their myfxbook links may have a little input worthy of sharing.

Bluejack as well has some interesting FTL results.

Though I don't quite get the equity curve, it would seem that he has hit 150% gains on the week and even if closed down now, would still be realizing above 30%.

Because of the triggering logic on this I would think that the default grid size would be suitable for the M15 charts. Because this triggering is based on the speed of price, there are really only so many available triggers for the M15 time frame and if you find a couple that close together, there is a good likelihood of an even better payday for the ranges set.

This being said, if you are using the trailing profit, or the SWB version, you will need to optimize these settings for a more suitable account profit.

PS. Love the Santa Avatar!

Business closed for the week. I am pleased with the results achieved by TDI_TOE. Two weeks of testing, and both closed in the green with relatively low DD. Thank you, Magix!

I started testing another TOE (M1M5 (http://www.myfxbook.com/members/kosmo/obos-m1m5-toe/779112)) yesterday, and so far so good. It will be interesting to compare its performance to TDI's, although it has fewer profit settings to play with. But that might actually be a good thing for an EA beginner...

A couple of questions if I may, Magix:
Have you considered adding Trailing Stop and Autoprofit/TP_in_money to M1M5_TOE?
Have you considered adding an HTF filter to TDI_TOE, e.g. Xaphod's MTF TDI (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=294501)?
Are there any other TOEs of yours that I could test? (however it may sound...lol)

The other three accounts (Christmas 2, FTL by Magix, FTL by Gvc) end the week under water, but Gvc's FTL has made the least damage, and I quite like it. I will test different TFs an ranges myself, but any fine tuning hints from Gvc would be much appreciated.

All accounts (http://www.myfxbook.com/members/kosmo)

Magix, take good care of yourself. Have a great weekend everyone

Hey Kos,

Glad you are still having a good time playing with these...

To answer your questions...

Allin M1M5 is the same trader as the M1M5 TOE, but has the additional trade features in it, you can run and compare. From my previous tries, both have merits and both are reasonable profitable taking 3 pairs and doubling my standard start $1500 in a couple of months. Though there was some considerable DD, you can still test with them to see which of the pairs would most suit you.

M1M5 is actually a dual Time Frame Filtered EA. Meant to be traded on the M1 chart, it uses the M5 Bollinger Bands for filtering. I have tested a couple of others with the M5 Bollinger, but the OBOS is still one of my favorite triggering systems. Besides that, the only other MTF filter I have played with is the Stochs which you can see in the X_Mas EAs.

With these, adding too many filters can actually cause more damage than can help. With the indicator based triggers, if we restrict the criteria too much, the cost averaging doesn't make as much sense. Blue moon traders is what I refer to these as, where they barely take enough trades in back tests to be statistically relevant. On these, though they can be profitable, working with them on basic accounts with swap fees, your fees can easily eat away profits while waiting to get into profit. Thus my reason for trying to create a more accurate M1 - M5 indicator based triggering system. These can do fairly well, even though they take a bit of a hit, they almost always, under reasonable R:M settings, prosper.

It's kinda sweet ya want to play with my TOES...lol. (Glad we got the male to female thing sorted, otherwise, this'd be just awkward!)

There are a few more out there, but given that I don't keep and sort really well, I can't remember any of them!

So, how's bout this...

You take some time, play with a chart and a couple of indies, throw down an idea of which way you would want them to trade, ie ALLIN, SWB, with the GVC options and I will see if time will allow me to have something new to play with for next week. I typically have something new in the works, but because I have had a lot of downtime this week, I got Nothing!

Let's see what you can come up with, I will see if there is anything I can add, and we will have a little something else to play with.

66,

I have forwarded my email address to you, feel free to email me your proof of pledge there, or take a screen shot and paste it here. Screen shots saved as .png files typically aren't as large.

With whichever route you take, please edit your previous post and remove your email address.

I would hate to somebody take advantage of your good nature because of your email addy showing up in one of my threads.

Thanks!
