Could someone please explain how to set up indicators, using strategy builders site. I have looked at the downloads such as laquerre,SHI Channel etc. I am totally ignorant in this area. Could this be done on their site, is there a fee, or another site to set up indicators on a platform. I need a lot of help in this area such as downloading the programs etc. Also I was unable to register at strategy builder, anbody know why? Thank you.

hello pip stalker,
r u using metatrader then u will log on to www.xeatrade.com or www.forex-tsd.com in this websites u will see many indicators and experts for metatrader software then u will download all the indicators into your system. and indicators are placed into C:/program files/metatrader/experts/indicators folders in your system then open that indicator file in metaeditor and press F5 (compile) then that indicator is ready for you in metatrader software.

regards,

hey stalker, if you dont like programming, its hard to be competitive with quantitative trading. you should take a look at fundamental based trading, or chart patterns. im always a fan of doing what your good at.
Relax and be happy.

Hi Merlin. I usually use the Oanda platform, messing around with indicators, ma's, Bollinger bannds, stocastics, par sar etc. I like drawing trend channels, using support and resistance, break outs, wedges and all that other crap. But I guess my biggest problem is backtesting, which I hear so much about. When I like something I think looks promising I have to scroll back and check out the results the old fashioned way. I may never learn to back test. Some times I do pretty well the old fashioned way, but I also hear backtesting has many flaws also. Are their very many successful traders who do not use backtesting?
