Hey fellas,

Just wanted to share a trading method which I have been using for some months now.It works nicely so I thought of sharing it over here.

I used to trade using the moving average earlier ( MA 34 on 1 Hr time frame).I enter when price crosses the MA upside or downside. What made me think out of the normal MA is sometimes even if the price crosses the trend and prices goes here and there. So In this method I use the same MA 34 but with some color and weights added. I got that Indicator from here - http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=181900 Thanks to the programmer who coded the MA

Here are the Indicators :-

1. The custom MA which you can find in the above link -
MA period is 34 and Change MA type to zero (0) and retain MA Applied price 6
2. I use a a stochastic ( 5,3,3) to confirm the trend. I use it for entry decisions only.
3. Stop loss - I use 20 Pips (200 for 5 digit broker) and I use a trailing stop of 20 pips ( I use 5 digit broker so 200)

The entry will be a bit delayed but it will be profitable in say 90% cases ( watch news also).

I used to trade 40-50 trades a week earlier and was in lose. Now with this system I trade say 2 or 3 trades per week and in good profits.

Cheers !!!!

thanks,

but say 90% cases ???

i doubt you can show even 8 winning trades out of 4 weeks (10 trades or so) now that you've traded a few months.

This is one of my systems that I am using. I use the same indicator in 5 minutes TF and making 30 pips a day....about 90% is correct. Once I accumulate 30 pips, EA stops running. You can also do this manually. See/Test it yourself. If you aim for more than 30 pips, you may get burnt.

Can you explain your entry rules?

is it:

1. watch for price to close above 34MA for long or below for short
2. look for coloured MA to turn green for long or red for short
3. check stoch is oversold or point up for long or overbought or pointing down for short
Winners add to winning trades!

Hi bro, not sure if u did proper forward testing. At this moment, from what i read is u enter on 1hr timeframe of prices crosses MA,your trailing stop of 20pips will exit u easily on that timeframe.

A bullish candle may have lot of retracement in it killing a trailing stop, since u also mentioned your entry is delay. Not sure whats your TP strategy.

Sorry, I can't do that. You can figure out yourself by looking at the chart. By the way, I only trade CHF/JPY for this system. Goodluck!

The EA (Moving Average) that comes with Meta Trader 4 will trade almost if not exactly the same trades. It has MA shift and you can change the MA (12) to 34. To see if it trades the same put the color MA indicator on chart to see if it trades at color change.
