Hi GregT, an H4 ascending triangle for you: https://www.tradingview.com/x/FJiuEyQZ/
Ignored
So what is your tactic with this setup?

I would let price break away from the triangle, then watch it pullback to bounce off the triangle again or move back inside the triangle. If it bounces, then I would enter a trade

In agreement with the old saying: "...Never put all your eggs in the same basket..." I suggest to use other systems like the rightly praised Ichimoku Kino Hyo:

That is a possibility but what if it does not rebound? I take half total position now and the other half on rebound.

usdjpy- bounced from trendline .STS( swingtrading strategy) would be to look for 123 over the upper trendline. DTS(day tradding strategy) is looking for a 4 hour 123 with target over lower tredline.

Can all contributors in this forum PLEASE adopt the following approach to maximise the learning for other traders and help avoid overwhelming the forum pages with charts that have no explanation:

1) Limit your posts to:

  1. SPARTAN 123 setups that you observe with reasoning included (see examples at http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...84#post9372284 and http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...59#post9400759);
  2. One attached chart only where possible;
  3. questions about the Spartan strategy; or
  4. advice to improve how to conduct the spartan strategy.

2) If you AGREE with someone's posted setup then click on the LIKE button to the bottom right of their post,
- see example at http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...85#post9440785

3) If you disagree with someone's posted setup then select QUOTE and provide your reasoning for an alternate opinion.
- example is shown at: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...84#post8962984

hi greg , the chart is self explinatory . it shows a possible swing trading and day trading setup . Thats how nikos draws his chart for possible setups . Let people who are more familiar with it have it , and if they need explanation lets discuss it . Our aim is to lesson the analysing time because some are for day traders and entry should be quick , so we have concentrate more on entries .

Its not a strong bounce , there is a trendline also the 36ema near by . It has a strong bullish bias , it might retrace a little but as of now the short doesnt seem a good option . But its your choice .

Only kidding. Your probably right, will look at this further & try to understand your reasoning. Cheers.

Trading is all about probabilities. You never enter a trade knowing you are going to win it , you may or may not .

Thanks to both of you for your great calls. Unfortunately I was not able to always react on them due to heavy work load today but your inputs are so motivating to keep on refining the art of Spartan Trading.

MJ, what was the reasoning for the setup you are observing?

I can obviously see similar things in my chart to what you have posted but the absence of an explanation of what you are seeing does not help me correlate your thoughts with what I think I am seeing.

I currently see price on AUDCAD as paused at a previous R-level that I can see you have marked on your chart, but rather than a short trade I was thinking it is more likely to go long after a pullback to the H4 200-633 or the MN 633 / WK 200 levels around 9820-9875 before resuming its long trend

It would be very useful to me and probably others on this forum to include your explanation of what you see in the setup, as well as include a chart of the setup you are thinking about trading so that we can all learn from things we have not yet seen and can contribute alternate observations that you may have not seen yet

Looks like this one worked for you Shaheen.

I am seeing a possible double top formed between mid-Dec and mid-Jan and I am waiting for price to breakout of the D1 200-633 band and an S/R level around 7600 before deciding where I will trade it

SETUPS I OBSERVED TODAY WITH BEST POTENTIAL FOR AN ENTRY TRIGGER:

  1. CHFJPY Long - see a H4 setup formed yesterday on bounce off 200eMA with confluence from price not Opening below the D1 633/36. D1 setup formed last week. Tried to enter on M5 while price was pulling back but timing was out so did not achieve optimum entry
  2. USDJPY Short - seeing H4 setup today with potential for short trade while price retraces 400+ pips to the D1 200eMA
  3. USDCAD Short - D1 S123 setup formed this week and Xover bar formed yesterday so I am now waiting for H4 setup to form today before entering short

Any thoughts from anyone?
