Evening, RJ

Thanks for posting your trades. The only reason not to re-enter was PA on top of DP, as I see it. Please share your reasons for not shorting it again. As I remember you said many times to re-enter if PA continues to move in your direction.

Certainly could re-enter short, no problem with that, I'm just bit hesitant to enter again during Frankie hour......I will wait for a better setup

Thank you for reply.
So you didn't pay much attention to DP in that case? Sorry for being so meticulous.

{quote} Pretty simple. If I didn't take the trade, then it didn't agree with my trading discipline at that time. Cheers.

Well, despite my premature exit, I'm still happy with what I got. European stocks climbed higher with LO, which I guess is the reason for this sudden burst towards the upside on some if not all eur crosses?

*edit* Pair is EU, I'm sorry. And actually seems more like spanish data, nvm.

No I was well aware of it. When I entered that trade, it was really a re-entry opportunity because the move began late in the NY session, and it presented the opportunity just after Tokyo open. Lets not forget that the Aussie (and Kiwi) is crashing and has been for the past 2 weeks, and the poor USA manufacturing data yesterday pushed the Aussie (and Kiwi) up 100 pips. It's fairly safe to enter on a good bearish sign after such a move because nothing has actually changed in the Aussie (and Kiwi) currency.....they just received a temporary boost from the poor USA data, and that was never going to 'stick'.

When the PA touched the DP I had my SL at BE, so it was just a matter of waiting for the PA to push through, which it did, then the Aussie news spoilt the party (for me). Now the bears will continue their way.

After I saw the Aussie and the Kiwi take off after the poor USA news, I knew that a short opportunity would happen along the next day......too bad I didn't take better advantage of it!!

You're welcome.....it's funny that it takes a lot of words to write it down, but I can see it in the charts very quickly. I guess that's what comes of spending so much time at the charts!!

Glad you enjoy. You don't' need to go too deep into fundamentals, but to have your 'finger on the pulse' often helps. For instance, the UJ pair fell back under 100 yesterday because people immediately went to the 'safe' currencies when the poor USA manufacturing data was released. Of course 100.00 is a major 'line in the sand' and it could act as resistance to any further moves north from the UJ pair, especially as that pair hasn't really made much progress even when it was over 100.

Then, a few hours ago, Abe said: " that he will push forward with his economic growth strategy despite recent volatile market moves. "The markets have been showing unstable moves recently, but I will firmly shoot the 'three arrows'," Abe said, referring to his growth strategy, at an assembly of Japan's biggest business lobby Keidanren"

.....which the market see's as a green light for more moves to weaken the Yen, so they take their money out of the Yen and bingo.....the UJ pair immediately heads north and adds 50 pips in the space of 1 hour. to sit now at 100.30. So, further moves north *might* be on the cards for the UJ pair......at the very least, shorting UJ might be a silly thing to do.

So it's just a matter of knowing the basics without too much in depth analysis, and that knowledge should be useful in such situations.

As far as the EU pair is concerned, I really am at a loss to understand why EU is not in the 1.20's......so I just trade what Genesis indicates, but I don't expect any 'home runs' on that pair.

and thanks to the SNB, the Euro stays propped up. This pair should not be trading where it's currently at.

Good evening to you

GJ, EJ and CJ have been the performers today, but you had to be on this side of the planet to take advantage of them. No, I didn't re-enter the AU trade......I've been caught too many times before entering in the early Frankie session. I let the AU go without me.....
