I was just thinking about the concept of how there is said to be only 5% winners vs. 95% losers in the forex world. I want to see if this percentage relates to daytraders vs. long term investing traders (forex only). When i say long term i mean holding trades for close to or over a month at a time. Short term, im specifically talking day traders who have say set times that they trade everyday, place a trade almost everyday, etc...

I put short term. The only trades I hold over a month are my ***/JPY trades. The reason being is that a month or more often goes by before I get an exit signal due to the obvious one sided trading. The same system gives 3 - 5 signals on a pair like GBP/USD per month.
The market is my nation. Traders, my family. Hello, brothers and sisters!

Well I trade off a daily chart. Sometimes trades only last a couple of days. Some may go for a few weeks.

I only exit when the market says it's time to do so.

Same here, and the success that I'm getting now is phenomenal... it suits my style and I have lots of freedom. When I turn pro I do plan to have a separate "Gambling" account with small lots for news trading. Short Term can be profitable. I've seen it but never manage to get it right, hence the name... Gambling account.
