Hi Emmanuel,

Would you mind sharing the ratios of the number of pips generated from the monthly & yearly systems in relation to the weekly one? Thanks.
Ignored
Hi Cun,

I do not have a monthly or yearly system. What I have done is I developed my own systems for intraday trading, swing trading and position trading.
I currently run three systems in concurrent mode trading in different timeframes.

To trade for a living, I believe I need several systems to cater for different market types. System perform differently in different market type therefore makes it risky for any business to rely on one single system to generate the expected income in a business year.

I also do not measure system performance by the number of pips. Every trade setup taken is measure by the return in number of the initial risk 'R'.
With the known R per trade, the overall systems performance is better measured in terms of Expectancy.
The other system performance I look at is the system Sterling Ratio at every completion of a trading cycle. For every trading profit cycle of 10%, I try to maintain a Sterling Ratio of above 2.0. This Sterling Ratio is more important to me because I trade using multi-lot multi-levels entries and exits. Managing drawdown and recovery is more important than counting the pips.

During the trading periods, I monitor performance regular intervals, for example for intraday trades, I look at every 50/100/300 trades.
This is important as we may need to make adjustment to our trade plan as market condition is dynamic. At the end of a business cycle annually, I look at the overall nett P&L for the combine systems.

Hope this explains how I measure my system performance.

Kind regards.

Hi X-Man,

It looks like GBP/USD H4 forming a nice setup. TDI broke the blue bands and the price is above 60 EMA. Is this a valid setup. I am still learning the H4 system.

Have a great day,

Hi,

I really like what you say you would do.... converting an intraday trade to a swing trade. Something I do all the time.

Once you are in the market, you follow the price movement and get into the rythm of things. You know the trader in you and know how to manage the trader in you. You sure know how to trade and make money in this market.

Glad to know that someone else is doing this too. I like to trade from the 15min chart, and if PA is flying (only if it's going my way like U/J), then I'll go to the 1hr chart to monitor the trade. If PA continues strong, then I'll switch to the 4hr chart.

I'm thinking about a way to pyramid/scaling in to build a bigger position along the way. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Yip thats a nice set up. TDI broke the blue band. PA bouncing off the EMA. Trend is up.
So that would be according to the rules

E/U - I hope someone went long at 5AM EST after the a beautiful pin bar at 4AM EST.

I saw the pin bar (via regular candlesticks, not heikin ashi), but could not pull the trigger at 1.3185 because it's not in my trading plan/style to get in at turnaround points.

Anyone went long E/U at the beginning of the 5AM EST candle???

Hi,

where would be the logical SL and target TP?
Is there enough range UP to give you room to take some partial profit?

On H4, price has not trend above the EMA60 yet, and also Weekly Pivot is above.
TDI cross not yet confirm until this curent H4 bar closes.
This pair is pretty ranging but tend upwards.

I would rather take trades on H1 basis and see if it can be converted to H4 and manage from there.

Watch it more closely!

Well it wasn't quite per the rules. But I did take a long trade once the price started to pull back on the 4AM EST candle. Once it had pulled back across the 4 hour trend line. I was able to achieve 50 pips.

Only wish it didn't take almost 5 hours.

hello codemonster. its nice to see you got the target. but what make you decide to take the trade in the middle of price at that time? ( is it only because it goes back and past from todays low at asian session?)

I was mainly watching price action (Way to much a$$ time in front of the computer in the last 8 months). Once I saw it wasn't able to push below 1.3165 any longer I waited for the price to come above the trendline. Also the TDI was slightly crossed at the time but not by much.

Hi ghischa,

since this is your very first post in this forum, I would assume that you started reading from the Post#1 of this thread.

Your chart looks very clean and unclutterd which is a good start. But your chart alone do not tell us what you were thinking when when you decided to take that trade.

Did you use the indicators and template provided in Post#1?

The APB does not look like the Synergy_APB(2) indicator. Looks more like the HeikenAshi version to me.

For what purpose is the use of the Stochastic indicator?

Where are the support and resistance levels for this day trade?

What was your inditial SL and TP when decided to enter this trade?

You have a Trailing Stop EA running on your chart, how do you use this EA to manage your trade?

Hope to get your answers and more details of your thought process in this trade.

Thank you.
