DislikedI get the words, but I am struggling with the reality. Why does a CB need somebody to buy and sell? Central banks can do this without the assistance of a third party. Also, the primary function of a CB is in fact to set monetary policy and to manage the money supply.Ignored
When the BIS participates in the market, nobody really knows on who's behalf they are acting.
If a CB executed their own transactions, the big boys (big banks etc) would know and that would give them more of an unfair advantage than they already have over the smaller big boys (small banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, etc).
Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it
