{quote} Ok, thanks.. I will check the normal candles. I will look into the point difference.. Is there a way to adjust Symphonie to compensate for the point difference? How would that work??

Bmcgowra,

This is my take{I could be wrong}:

The 5th digit in a 5 digit price is for precision. You could do the following:

1. Open couple of demo accounts(2-3 is the minimum) in 4 digit price broker and check the signals side by side and eliminate the one that is not in sync with the other tow.

You can use the same testing for 5 digit broker.

2. Use 2 accounts instead of one for a valid signal. Example: In one account, there could be a color change in the "Trend" Indicator of Symphonie, but we only consider trade when the change is in both accounts.

3. Search FF for the broker that has consistent data and stick to it. The law of averages in signals could catch up.

Ex: At present there could a missed signal in the current account you are using vs a different broker, but later a signal/entry in your current broker will show up and not show up in the different broker...

Thanks

PS: Having an additional account by the side to track data about any missed signals is not a bad idea..

{quote} The data could vary from broker to broker. One broker could be 5 digit price while other is 4 digit price. As a test, check the Open, High, Low and Close prices for a given candle in both the platforms. Also, seems those are Heikin Ashi Candles, use normal candles to check the values.. Thanks

aaven,

Yes, data from brokers will vary because all brokers are not the same. Also, there are differences between demo account data and real account data as well. Depending on where along the line the broker is connected to the trading network will depend on what type of data you receive and when you receive it. Also, some brokers actually manipulate the data received slowing it down so their own market makers can get in ahead of the crowd which I find dishonest even illegal.

Its hard to prove but it happens. So, you are correct data does vary from broker to broker.

aaven,

I don't trade larger timeframes because they tend to be very out of sync with market movements. Also, the trades are for very long timeframes (months or years holding a single position) and you must have very very deep pockets to be able to handle the huge swings that can happen in those timeframes. I like the 1hr to 15m because those usually provide you with one trade a day and depending on the movement can be held for weeks or even a month.

Because I don't trade them(weekly timeframe); I have very little experience with them and feel uncomfortable giving my opinion about them other than I don't trade them.

I hope that answers your question.

Here two examples of different signals with different bokers. Dukascopy seems to jump in early. Is there a way to set the indicator so its similar to the demo. Wondering if this is possible.

bmcgowra,

Yes, you will have to play with the settings for each element in the Symphonie matrix. It appears the one on the left is entering too early and will give you the pain of the whipsaws.

Best of Luck.

Something Struck me,

Are there Sunday Bars on you charting platform? Check to see if any bars are formed on Sunday. Some brokers use New York Open-Close as their day{so it will not have bars on Sunday) and others brokers have something to do with using GMT as reference...

So if you are using one broker with NewYork Open-Close and Other with Sunday Bars, there will be difference...

Hi there,

This system looks really promising, so thank you for sharing it. I've been through the first 10 or so posts but I'm not sure what I need to install? Do I need to install everything from:

I am in the process of creating an EA. I testet from the 1. of January 2017 till today and have good results with it. But only with 2 pairs until now. I think adjusting the Symphonie settings would help. Here the result for USDJPY.. I must add, that I always took profit after 32 pips. The EA isnt ready yet. The trades exit automatically once the signal is lost, after the candle of the lost signal closed..

Good job. I too wanted to create EA. I had planned to use the latest indicator and I was going to add some of the mannerisms that the author spells out in his posts.
My question is, are u using the latest indicator or did u just take all the earlier indicators to create the EA. I assume u are coding it such that the upper TF is taken into consideration? Anyhow if I may be of service let me know. I have many templates and functions that cover many aspects of MT4 logic, so if you need something let me know, I may already have the code ready for it to be used.

If you are not interested then that is ok. I look forward to the release of your EA.

I want to make a note to those that are against the use of EAs. A well done EA is a great TOOL that can help the trader place trades when one is not present. In the END the trader must still monitor an EA and make decisions as to when to keep it trading or whether or not to keep any of it's trades active. Once these things are in place the trader basically becomes a profit MONITOR. The EA does the heavy lifting but the final choices are done by the profit monitor (the user of the EA). Are there a users that are successful long term using EAs? Yes, they exist, but the myth is that the EA did all the work... not so.

Attached the EA, which doesnt reflect exactly the symphonie strategy. It only checks the 1 hour signal! Also I noticed that the symphonie settings of each currency have to be different. If you run it through the tester you will see.

Hope I am not stepping on anyones toe by posting this. If it is not ok Evaluator.. Just tell me and I will remove my posts or you can remove them.
