So, this one is a money making bot, if Steve will adjust the minor bugs...

Hi Steve,
I'm back to kicking tires and opening the glove-box and pulling out the owners manual....The bot I'm running is a shadow of the bot I see on the last page and a half....Ruff stuff if you can't get here every day.....Fall is coming!!!
This thing looks great.....I'm loading the updates!!!

Have a great week

I'm not having much luck with BB at the moment. Steadily losing money.

I have a bit of a problem with the GV's, if I add one manually and then reload BB as per PDF instructions it seems to close the trade, sometimes, but not always. Obviously there is a reason for this but I can't figure it out.

BB doesn't see most of the GV's anyway. I have 6 trades open but it only loaded 2 GV's and when I added the rest it closed 3 trades at a loss !! What am I doing wrong ? Or is it BB ?

I'm running the latest BB OOTB.

Is there anyone out there that can enlighten me ?

Is anyone actually making money ?

Hi Rascacio - i dont think OOTB is the way yet. We have to wait for steve to add the couple of bits which are pending on his part and then do some back tests.

I have played around with some settings and done some back tests but, as I explained before, nothing so far has made me go 'wow' -yet.

The manual method is more profitable at the moment (probabaly will always be) but there is still work to do here.

As still says, if we can make this just 90% as profitable as the manual method, we have probably one of the best systems this year.

Last version must be far more profitable than manual strategy, IF Steve will have patience and time to solve the closing orders problem...as long as there's still pending orders unfilled, BB won't close any other open position, aborting any kind of trade management. So, there's just this little bug, entries are fine, exits were fine in the previous versions.

Latest update in post 1:

  1. added Recovery - multi-levels are fully configurable now.
  2. added the ability to convert Range to Trend trades if the market goes off on one of its benders and make range trades look like something only an idiot would have taken out.
  3. one or two other bits and bats.

Details in the user guide.

In outline, BigBob is complete, so now we can begin refining and debugging. The Recover stuff is particularly prone to bugs; it was a nightmare to code.

Time now to:

  1. close down your platform
  2. delete BigBob.ex4 and BigBob.mql4 from the Experts folder
  3. restart your platform
  4. delete any outstanding Global Variables
  5. start a new demo account
  6. close down the platform again, download BB from post 1, restart the platform, set up BB on your charts and sit back to watch what happens.

Right. The moment we have all been waiting for.

I'm gonna run some back tests first.

Thanks for your hard work, pal.

Oops. Found first bloop as soon as BB took its first range of Carolco trend trades. Fixed in post 1.

FWIW, this version defaults to those I am using on my $2000 IBFX Aussie demo.

Was about to ask you about your broker...cause I think I'm gonna get a hammer and finish my comp...I'm using FXSol, anyway, dunno if it's broker or pure MT4 crap sh..t, but after every backtest, I need to restart computer,delete all logs from folders,clear GV if any, and change the tested pair, otherwise BB is doing nothing at all on the next backtest!

Btw, I hope you talking about freezing with pendings open and aborting anything else, right?
There's still one more I've noticed, hedge is closing in loss, no matter what hegde profit value I choose ;-) * Hedge solved,it's working now!
P.S. I know you hate me, hahaha!

*Edited* (writing on the go...as backtest is developing)

*Jumping stop for original order not working (even if there are still pendings in place or if they are all filled);
*Original order is not closing (no close according to settings "Close DragosD1", not even on visual trend change (Trend is ranging). Info on screen is still "Trend is down", but I think that's because the short trade still exist; Oh, now I see, has no TP either, even is specified in settings;
I don't say

@steve

thanks for your effort.

i have a question to this range2trade feature: in the manual i should put UseRecovery to 'false'. but what happen if i leave it on?

my thinking about this is: if i'm in a range trade which goes against me for this trade i use recovery but at the same time i'll open a trade into trend. later then i could close the trendorder in profit an fill the first recovery level.
would this make sense? i think it would, but does it technical work?

Cheers

As I understand, Hedge is taking care of this, that's why "Recovery" set to false...

Ok, stopped this for now, as it ends nowhere...sell is still open and not closing in any way...attached the report and used settings, maybe I did something wrong...
Tester shows lots of errors, could this be a problem that generates the other mentioned?

I have been backtesting all day to catch bugs - still am, in fact. I have no problems, so the trouble is at your end.

Actually, I backtest/develop code on Alpari UK. That is why CriminalIsECN is so often false when it should be true. Causes me no end of problems when I transfer bots to my always-on, IBFX Aussie demo machine.

Mind, it is doing exactly as required there as well.

So far.
